Rehearsal schedule to be determined once members are assembled.

Commitment! To ensure that the production is of the highest quality, and in fairness to all

involved it is essential that all those involved are committed to be part of the

team and committing 100% to its success.

By choosing to be involved you agree to be available for all your rehearsals, which may include holidays, tech week, and show weeks. When people are away it is very hard to put a show together and as such it is an expectation that you are fully committed.

Everyone's time is valuable and it is vital that important rehearsal time is not

wasted by the absence of required cast members.

Page 5: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2018horshamartscouncil.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Jo… ·  · 2017-11-13Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2018

A prerequisite for all those involved is that they must sign an agreement with

the production team and HAC committee confirming your agreement with the

conditions of being in this production, below.

HAC Expectations Agreement

HAC requires that the following expectations be adhered to by all cast, crew

and musicians whilst rehearsing and performing for any event under which the

company is presenting.

• Respect o RESPECT each other, RESPECT the building, RESPECT yourself. o RESPECT everyone on the production team, the decisions made &

their approach. Any decision regarding direction, music, choreography, make-up, hair, sets etc given by the creative team must be adhered to

o Take responsibility for learning your role & understand that others may take longer to learn their roles. Be courteous towards them.

o All phones to be switched off or on silent during rehearsals (preferably switched off).

o Swearing, bullying & anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

o Any issues that you may have can be raised with the Producer if it is production related or the Director if creative related. Issues should be raised and dealt with when they occur not after the show. It is not beneficial to any one person or the show to be dwelling on an issue that could easily be resolved

• Rehearsals o Rehearsals will commence & finish at the scheduled times. o Arrive at rehearsals to be ready to start working at the agreed

rehearsal time. o Everyone must give 100% all the time. Whether on or off stage, you

play a vital role towards the success of the show. o Do not hold back during rehearsals. You have the licence to try

anything. The production team would rather rein you in than try to push you towards a level.

o Production team to provide regular & ongoing feedback to the cast throughout rehearsals.

Page 6: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2018horshamartscouncil.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Jo… ·  · 2017-11-13Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2018

o Only a really good - genuine - reason is acceptable for missing a rehearsal. We are a team & everyone is accountable to each other. Regular absences will be not be tolerated and may result in the Director re-casting the role

o The Director will be available before and after each rehearsal to answer any questions or discuss any ideas you may have.

• Team Work o PARK YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR - Leave everyday issues, moods &

problems at the door. o EQUALITY – Everyone is equal. NO-ONE is more special or important

than anyone else. On & off stage. o Make the most of the time our group is together – it is a very short

time. o Do not be scared to ask for help or advice from anyone. THERE IS NO

DUMB QUESTION. o Commit to the production & make it a priority in your life. o Be prepared to listen and learn from each other & the production

team. Be open to feedback

• Maintain Good Health – Look after yourself, your health & voice, before rehearsals & during the production season.

• Advertising – Be prepared to sell the show to your family, friends & the public. When required, be available for any marketing activities undertaken.

• HAVE FUN – We will achieve something great together. Let’s make it an experience we will all never forget!!!!!

Tech Week and Show Week

We need to be very clear about the expectations of Tech Week and show weeks. They are very long and tiring, but oodles of fun! Many new families to HAC don’t realise that the schedule changes dramatically during these weeks.

The normal rehearsal schedule is replaced with Tech week rehearsal dates and times.

If you are successful in becoming part of the cast or involved backstage as crew, make-up, hair or orchestra, you need to be aware of what is involved during this week. Further information will be provided closer to Tech Week.

For the time being you will need to make sure you are available for the following dates including the performance dates above:

Page 8: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2018horshamartscouncil.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Jo… ·  · 2017-11-13Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2018

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will be held:

• Monday, 7.00pm-10.00pm

• Thursday, 7.00pm-10.00pm

• Sunday, 1.00pm-5.30pm All rehearsals at HAC shed until theatre week! Rehearsals commence Monday 29 January 2018. Initial Rehearsal schedule will be forwarded prior to this date. Orchestra Rehearsals will be determined once the orchestra has been assembled. Backstage crew, make up, costumes and hair crew will be required to attend some rehearsals later in the schedule to work with cast on their various areas. This is especially important for backstage crew who need to be familiar with the show and learn the movements of the stage as early as possible before going into the theatre.

No Rehearsals

At this stage there won’t be rehearsals held on the following dates:

• Sunday 1 April 2018 – Easter

• Monday 2 April 2018 – Easter Monday

Page 9: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2018horshamartscouncil.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Jo… ·  · 2017-11-13Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2018

Miscellaneous attendance As with most HAC shows, cast will also be required for various ‘other’ attendance to complete key show tasks. These include but are not limited to costume calls, photo shoots, video and media shoots. These are important tasks in the production of a show and cast are required to be available when required. The determination of these dates is difficult to anticipate at this point in time but where possible will be included in rehearsal schedules and all those required will be given ample notice. A Trivia Night is also being planned as a social event which all cast will be invited to, more details will be made available once the rehearsals commence.

Children and Rehearsals

Where possible the rehearsal schedule will be developed so that children are scheduled earlier in the evenings and on Sunday rehearsals. However, there will be exceptions where children will be required during the week, especially towards the end of the rehearsal and performance period.

Working with Children’s Check

Horsham Arts Council have adopted a Child Safe Policy to protect children who are involved in our shows. In accordance with this policy all adults involved in a production are required to have a valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) and nominate Horsham Arts Council as a volunteer organisation. This is not negotiable and applies to all adults in the Cast, Crew and the orchestra.

This WWCC must be completed and submitted to our Secretary Faye Johns by the first rehearsal. Members who have not submitted a valid WWCC will not be able to attend rehearsals until completed.
