The March meeting was called to order by President Lewis at 7:45 PM. March 24, 2016
February Attendance : 33 members and 2 guests (Sharon Barnett & Alexia, Sandy & Keith’s Niece).
Treasurer’s report: $4,452.66

DUES!!! IMPORTATNT DUES!!! Remember as voted by the members: All Juggers including Associate Juggers’, membership dues are PAST DUE!!!! Mail your $40.00 payment TODAY to:
Sandy Mendia, Treasurer 1175 Wilhelmina Way San Jose, CA. 95120-5434 Safety Committee – John Lewis / Gary Ryan reported that a there are new rules that apply to TF/FC/PS/ PSMC Classes. John Lewis has the official 2016 NHRA Rule Book. Reminder, it is up to each individual to review, research and know the rules!!
Web – Please e-mail, in proper format, pictures of your ride and/or racing photos to Tom “Rocky” Finale, as well as any other information that is appropriate for the Juggers Web Site. The monthly Newsletter is posted on the Web Site.
Picnic Committee - Steve O’Brien –After researching new locations AND NO OTHER SUGGESTIONS FROM MEMBERS, it was voted at the meeting to have this year’s picnic at Huddart Park. A tentative date of October 8th was chosen. DURING THE MEETING SANDY M, RESERVED OUR SPACE AT HUDDART FOR OCTOBER 8TH!! More Picnic Info will follow as well as Committee Sign Ups.
JBT Group – Paul Risso. The car is coming along well. Joe Simpson is fabricating parts and welding. Shooting for El Mirage to run!! (Countdown – Appx. 51 days for testing car in May)
Juggers Club Wear – Eddie Kucker. Thanks to Eddie & Jan, Juggers’ merchandise was at the meeting for shopping. LOTS of great items for SALE! The new jackets need to be ordered through Eddie. The price is $90.00 each and $10.00 fee to be personalized. Attached is an Information Sheet on Merchandise.
Recognition / Merit Awards – Gary Ryan & Committee. - *** JUGGERS LOGO must be on the vehicle, driver and/or crew member to participate. Submit your entries at the monthly meeting (honor system) or contact Gary Ryan. Winners will be drawn at random on September 30th. You may have more than one entry. The winners; Driver, Crew Member, and CAR SHOW will be awarded at the Juggers Picnic. CONT
Recognition / Merit Awards (cont) Program starts JAN 1 to SEPT 30, 2016. (2017 program will start 10/1/16). Submit entries @ the monthly meeting or contact Gary. Car Show Committee – Gary Ryan “Car Crazy” has been set for Aug. 13. Hwy 92 & Alameda, San Mateo. A FUN EVENT. ‘Gotellis” set for Sept. 10TH , more info to follow. Race Report – Gary Ryan, MARCH MEET. Cold, Windy, Hot, Wet – you name it we had it. Everyone did great. Good Jugger turnout. Gary Ryan had the honor of taking a deceased Jugger on his/her last ride. SONOMA – Eddie Kucker made the Semi Finals at Sonoma and came home with a Trophy!!! John Murphy runner up with head lights out. PLEASE send Gary and/or Chili Bob any reports, news, etc. Our goal is to keep you all informed as to the accomplishments of our members & a well deserved pat on the back…… CAR SHOW information TOO!!!!! History Committee – Sandy Medina As reported it was a wonderful turnout at the Celebration of Life at the Memorial Grove during the March Meet. Unfortunately, we keep adding to many name plaques to those that passed. The older individual name plaques have deteriorated due to weather. A motion was made and passed that those name plaques will be replaced as soon as possible . A special thanks to Art Heming for keeping an eye on the Jugger Tree.

OLD BUSINESS: New PROPOSED EPA RULE affecting ALL vehicles. EPA wants to prohibit the conversion of vehicles into race cars!! Check SEMA Website for more details and petition information. h

Round Table Cub Barnett and his wife Sharon, drove down from Sonoma to personally thank the Juggers for his Recognition Barrel (Mike Talcott) presented to him for being inducted to the Hot Rod Hall of Fame during the Hot Rod Reunion last October in Bakersfield.
It was like a class reunion with Cub being at the meeting!!!
Sharon also mentioned that during the March Meet, there were several car burglaries at the hotels. (Bob & K.C. Lowenstein know this all too well from a few years back). Don’t take for granted that your items are safe in your vehicles or trailers… even when parking in a well lighted place.
John Lewis’ daughter, who will be graduating this year, will be spending time in Colombia on a Humanitarian Mission. YOU GO GIRL… all the Juggers are wishing you well and safe travels.

Rumor Has IT – As part of his retirement from racing, on March 2nd, Harold Hungerford had his first violin lesson... guess he's going to be fiddlin' around quite a bit!
There is a grass root organization that started the Gary Ryan as a WRITE IN CANDITATE for the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES!!
Wayn Philips is a rock star and has not cancelled any of his gigs… due to his treatments and has an even better attitude and looking forward to Raina’s upcoming wedding.
John Peet aka Bodine , not a good time to take a trip to Europe… even on a Two for One deal…sure he will have some stories to tell.
Through the National Enquirer - it is rumored that Joe Namath will have a competitor as far as who wears panty hoses the best….. Tommy Finale.
The Juggers will have a new Club House in Lake Tahoe….. call Paul Risso for details.
Quote of the Month – “What was I thinking”…. it must have been that last glass of wine, but K.C. will be drafting a Juggers Membership Directory. An individual form will be provided at the upcoming meetings as well as via e-mail / snail mail. Please take the time and fill it out and return it so that we can complete this project, sooner then later.

Tickets for the Friday July 29 Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals Orders will be taken beginning at this Thursday’s meeting. The track requires a deposit to hold the seats from last year, so we need to get your orders and your money no later than the May meeting. No orders will be taken that are not accompanied by cash or a check. Tickets with the Juggers discount are $48.00, reserved parking is $10 and the Blast on the Grass car show parking is $25. Get your orders to John Lewis ASAP.

Just wanted to thank you, Sandy, and the rest of the Juggers for a great intro to Nostalgia Drag Racing! I loved it! Ron and I (and Jeff too, I'm sure) also wanted to thank you for such a touching ceremony for the Juggers that have passed. It was a pleasure and honor to meet you all. I bet Caryl was all choked up ;-) I'm sorry we missed your run in person, but was able to see it on bangshift.com. WHAT A HOOT!! We stayed later on Sunday than we expected and in our rush to get on the road, we didn't get a chance to say goodbye - my apologies! But I'm sure we'll be seeing you again soon - we think we'll go to the Hot Rod Reunion in October!

Hard of Hearing
Morris, an 82-year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical. A few days later the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young lady on his arm. A couple of days later, the doctor spoke to Morris and said, "You're really doing great, aren't you?" Morris replied, "Just doing what you said, Doctor, 'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.'" The doctor said, "I didn't say that. I said you got a heart mummer and be careful."
