100 years of historyKaVo was founded in 1909 by Alois Kaltenbach in Berlin-Steglitz. Ten years later, Richard Voigt becomes a partner

of the company. Kaltenbach and Voigt become “KaVo”. The company moves to Potsdam and in 1946 to Biberach in High

Schwabia. The headquarters of the company remain there to these days.

In 1959, KaVo already has 750 employees and opens its first branch, a factory for dental technology in Leut-Kirch.

The next growth phase occurs in the sixties, when KaVo begins the process of creating associate companies all over

the world in order to increase sales and open international markets.

In order to supply the South American market, in 1960 KaVo do Brasil is opened, the first manufacturing unit

outside Europe. Soon after, in 1962, the first distribution company abroad is opened in London: KaVo UK, which is

followed by several other distribution companies all over Europe and other countries. At the end of this year KaVo

already exports dental knowhow to over 60 countries. The success phase continues with the need to expand the

production capacity. In 1976 the Warthausen factory is opened. Its objective: meet the growing demand for dental

equipment.



Alois Kaltenbach, born in 1887. The founder of the company had a highly creative mind.

Richard Voigt, partner and manager, was born in 1886, and had a broad and organizational vision of the company.

100 years of history.Since its foundation, KaVo has been known for its innovation power also in the instrument area. The result:

over 2,200 patents all over the world. For instance, the first sterilizable handpiece in 1928. 75 years ago,

KaVo used something that the dental market would require in the 21st century: high quality materials that meet

the highest hygiene requirements. We have lots to thank for the decades of experience. The fact that

efficient business processes are a premise. The vision of the business management trends. The continuous

research and development of products as a routine. The capacity to remain as a market leader which is and

continues to be in first place with Dental Excellence. And the courage to face the future and take the

1960, it has a factory in Joinville – Santa Catarina and branches in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, which allows being

close to the customer and ensures agility and efficiency.

KaVo’s post-sale service is present all over Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. In Brazil and Latin America, there

are over 200 technical assistance shops, over 500 specialized technicians trained by the factory and over seven thousand

genuine spare parts with warranty of the company.

Our sales force is composed of highly qualified professional to better fulfill the needs of our customers, with

convenient payment methods and the best cost-effectiveness. The objective is to offer the surgeon-dentists,

orthopedists, universities, associations and public and private entities a vast range of state-of-the-art products
