Our InstructorsL. Felipe Monteiro - Professor of Strategy

During four consecutive years (2014-2017), Professor Monteiro received the INSEAD Deans' Commendation for Excellence in Teaching MBA. Prior to joining INSEAD, he was a faculty member at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where, for four consecutive years (2009-2012), he received the "Goes Above and Beyond the Call of Duty" contributions and commitment to educational excellence in the MBA core curriculum. He additionally served as a senior researcher at Harvard Business School's Latin American Research and as an adjunct professor at the IBMEC Business School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he won seven teaching awards between 1998 and 2002. Prior to joining the academy, Felipe was a senior analyst in Banco do Brasil acting as adviser to foreign companies that invest in Brazil.

Nathan Furr - Professor of Strategy

Professor Furr’s research focuses on technology innovation strategy, particularly on how new and established companies adopt technological changes to enter new markets. His publications include explorations on how to capture new opportunities, how to balance the need for execution with flexibility, how companies develop innovative business models, the determinants of success for firms in changing industries, and the impacts of learning success in new markets. These surveys have been published in such journals as Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. In addition, he received several awards, including “Best Dissertation” from both the Technology and Innovation Management Division and the Academy of Management Entrepreneurship Division, as well as the “Best Paper” award with finalist distinctions from the Business and Public Policy Division the Academy of Management, the Kauffman Foundation, the Sloan Foundation, and other recognized academic institutions.
