Resurrection Parish Lenten Reconciliation

This Sunday March 13 3:00 pm

Daily Prayers We invite you to spend a few moments each day this week praying for these Intentions ...

- for our Seminarians and for all in our Diaconate and Lay Ministry programs - for the sick and for those who care for them - for the faith community of St. Martin de Porres Parish

If you are in need of the Power of Prayer, let us pray for you or if you wish to join in prayer for others,

please call Lila Giesinger at 306-789-1600.

Share Lent Pilgrimage – Solidarity Sunday Today is Solidarity Sunday. Thank you for your generosity. Every gift goes far to help our sisters and brothers around the world – from Haiti to Paraguay to Bethlehem and beyond! We end our Share Lent pilgrimage with the words of our Holy Father Pope Francis in this Jubilee Year of Mercy: “Mercy is the force that reawakens us to new life and instills in us the courage to look to the future with hope.” Thank you for helping to create a hopeful future!

DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE, 1425 René-Lévesque Blvd. West, 3rd Floor, Montreal QC H3G 1T7 www.devp.org

Work of Mercy focus: “I was sick

and you cared for me.”

We all have been sick with a cold or the flu. Some people don’t have anyone to care for them

when they are sick. A lot of children in the world get sick because they don’t have the medicine to prevent disease or they can’t see a doctor or get to a hospital.

Consider a donation equal to a gift or service you might give someone who is in hospital, dealing with a long-term illness, or recovering from an illness or operation (i.e. a card, bouquet of flowers, fruit tray, etc.)

REMEMBER Next Weekend Palm Sunday

Mass Times:

5:00 PM Saturday 9:00 AM and *11:30* AM Sunday

WE NEED PRAYERS Of the 93 priests we have in the Archdiocese, 30 are retired and serve part time and 8 more can retire this year. PLEASE pray for new vocations! Chrism Mass – (NOTE DATE CHANGE) will be celebrated this Tuesday March 15, at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Cathedral. Bishop Albert Thévenot from Prince Albert will be presiding.

EMPLOYMENT POSITION

Looking for spiritually fulfilling full time employment?

Please apply for Resurrection Parish’s Sacrament Director. This pastoral assistant position is responsible for the registration, preparation and initiation celebration associated with Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist, First Reconciliation, RCIA and Marriage. Working closely with the pastor, and various teams of volunteers, this person is entrusted with marking the significance of which Resurrection Parish makes present the graces proper to each sacrament.

Deadline for applications: April 3, 2016 Commencement Date: May/June 2016.

If you are interested in part-time employment or volunteer work in Resurrection Parish, please do not hesitate to drop off a resume and a cover letter to the Parish Office. The Parish is always looking for support in the areas of administration, building cleaning and maintenance, site management, communications, audio visual and information technology, and music ministry. The Resurrection Refugee Committee is seeking volunteer tutors for English language teaching. There is a long waiting list for government-sponsored language training for refugees, so the Committee is assembling a group of volunteers to assist our Syrian family in learning English. Whether you have teaching/tutoring experience or not, you can contribute to our family's success in rebuilding their lives in Canada. Training will be provided, and your commitment will fit your schedule. The Committee is also seeking Arabic speakers willing to act as volunteer interpreters as necessary. Please contact Nadine at [email protected] or 306-209-3514.

The Easter Blood Drive is targeted to bring donors into the Regina Blood Centre from Wednesday March 23rd to Saturday March 26th. We need the strong support of the Regina faith community to fill over 200 open appointment spots during the week, but especially on Good Friday (March 25th) which has over 60 open spots! Donating blood is a gesture of solidarity and profound generosity in support of those facing illness. Every single day, hospitals across Canada are filled with cancer and surgery patients, premature babies, accident victims and other sick and injured people who need transfusions to live. Blood cannot be manufactured, it can only come from volunteer donors and because all blood and blood products are perishable, the supply must constantly be replenished. Regina Blood Clinic, 2571 Broad Street (at Broadway Ave.) We always welcome anyone walking into the clinic to donate, but appointments are strongly recommended. This allows us to help reduce donor wait times and improve clinic flow. To reserve your day and time please call Canadian Blood Services at 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283), or make your appointment online at www.blood.ca .

The Archdiocesan Resource Centre has many DVDs and books that are available for anyone to borrow free-of-charge. Many of our great saints show us how to live out the works of mercy by their very lives. During this Year of Mercy, why not learn some of the lessons they have to teach us? Find us on-line at www.archregina.sk.ca, call Teresa at 306-352-1651 ext. 238 or email [email protected]
