We’ve had some big events these past two months such as DCON

Southwest CTA’s Key Club Bulletin Editor.
I am very grateful of this opportunity to make these wonderful

Hello Key Clubbers!
My name is Kimberly Yiv, and I am honored to be the President of
Southwest Career and Technical Academy Key Club for the 2015-2016
term! A small introduction from myself, I am in grade 11, upcoming
senior, in the Dental Assisting program of SWCTA. I am happy to
announce this is our very first newsletter for our club reflect on what we
did in the past month.
There are countless things I am looking forward to serving as your
President. I have a number of goals to accomplish this year such as
membership retention, an increase in community service, an increase in
inclusiveness, and much more. I plan on working my hardest, and my first
goal is to win the spirit stick of D28W at Regional Training Conference
2015! I am excited to see what the Key Club year has in store for our
club along this journey.
I am very proud of the work Noah Lopez has done as our Bulletin
Editor. I cannot wait to see the future newsletters he will be making for
our club!
With love from your President,
Kimberly Yiv
PB&J-A-THON March 5th, 2015, Southwest CTA Key Club
held a PB&JATHON where members made
over 800 sandwiches for the homeless
community of Las Vegas. The event brought
the members close together by working in
teams. The event was major success and the
officers are proud of everyone who attended
this event to help out the homeless.
The PB&J-A-THON was so much
fun. It was another way to get to
know some of the people we
never talked to before. It was a
success because we were able to
make so many sandwiches to give
to the people in need of food. I
loved the PB&J-A-THON because
we were helping the community
while bonding with each other.

I thought the PB&J-a-thon was
nice and a great opportunity for
Key Club members to bond and
help the community. I liked how
we made sandwiches for the
homeless to provide them a nice
meal. The atmosphere that day
was very calm and friendly like a
normal fun act.

I really enjoyed Dance Marathon! It
was so much fun and very energetic! I
really loved hanging out with everyone,
including friends from different schools! It
was nice to see everyone again and to
just dance the whole night. What made it
really fun is when people would make
these dance circles and everyone would
just jump in and have fun. Also, one of my
favorites was towards the night when
they made the scenery more of an EDM
party! I can’t wait for the next dance
marathon!

Children’s Miracle network held their
second annual Dance Marathon at
University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Our
new and old board members danced
for eight hours! 12pm to 8pm. Not
aloud to sit throughout the entire event
but for a good purpose. We stood and
danced for the ones who can’t. There
was games, photo booths, speakers
and live performances from bands and
dance crews. Our feet sore, back
ached but we didn’t care we did it for
a good cause.
March Division Council Meeting
March DCM was the very first DCM I've ever
been to. I decided to come to it because my
brother is a member of UNLV Circle K. I thought
it was an informative experience. It was really
great how we could hear other key club
organizations. Their goals and accomplishments
were really inspiring. It got me thinking how
DCM’s can help us grow faster as a key club
community. It's an important way of
communicating our ideas as a division. Overall
it was an enjoyable event and I'm glad that I
attended!

District Convention 2015
DCON was another memorable experience that has impacted me in so many
ways. I have not only fallen in love with CNH ever more, but have gained
many lessons on how to improve or club and division, and I hope to take these
lessons and apply them to our lives. I think the thing I enjoyed most about
DCON was attending seminars and bonding with other key clubbers from
different divisions; it amazes me how we can all come under one roof to
celebrate just how BEEutiful key club really is.
