How many of you plan on attending a college or university upon your high school graduation?

What college or university most interest you and why?

WHY COLLEGE?Senior year can seem like a blur, with too many things to do and not enough time. But it’s important to take a minute every now and then to take a deep breath and remember the reasons why you’re making this effort—and how your investment in college will really pay off:Reason 1The more education you get, the more likely it is you will always have a job. According to one estimate, by the year 2028 there will be 19 million more jobs for educated workers than there are qualified people to fill them.

Reason 2Continuing education after high school is much more important for your generation than it was for your parents' generation. Today, most good jobs require more than a high school diploma.

Page 4: Maricopa County Community Colleges Senior Transitions : What’s Next? ACE Senior Presentation

WHY COLLEGE?Reason 3Education beyond high school gives you a lot of other benefits, including meeting new people, taking part in new opportunities to explore your interests and experiencing success.Reason 4 (MORE MONEY!)Over a lifetime, a high school dropout working full-time will earn $300,000 less than a high school graduate, and more than $1 million less than a college graduate. It’s easy to see that if you want to do well, graduating is what you’ve got to do first.

*****The Big Lesson Here?*****You’ve got a lot to lose by giving up, and everything to gain by being serious about staying in school and obtaining a college degree!
