THE CATHOLIC STRONG CAMPAIGN IS A LOCAL CAMPAIGN Unlike most diocesan-wide campaigns of this nature, the Catholic Strong campaign returns 70% of the funds raised directly back to the parish. This is virtually unheard of in the world of fundraising. Bishop Dennis Sullivan has seen first-hand the great work being done in the parishes. Catholic Strong was designed to support the development of needed initiatives that help our local Catholic communities continue to grow, strengthen and welcome new members into their parishes. As you consider a gift to this campaign, and perhaps even more importantly, as you discuss it with your family and friends, remember that this campaign is for you and your parish. To learn more about the Catholic Strong campaign speak with your pastor, a member of your parish’s campaign volunteer team or go to southjerseycatholicstrong.org.
OUR PLAN: The Catholic Community of South Jersey has evolved tremendously over the course of its 80 year existence. Now, the time has come for this generation of Catholics to contribute to the great history of our diocese. We must invest in evangelization programs, lay faith formation, and professional development for parish staff and ministers.
As vital and active members of the Diocese of Camden wishing to make our contribution, we are beginning the Catholic Strong Campaign to provide the resources needed to ensure our parishes are financially stable, strengthen Catholic education, expand our outreach capabilities, and enhance our evangelization efforts. A successful campaign will ensure the vitality of our faith communities and ultimately meet the evolving needs of our Diocese.
Every parish will share in these efforts with an allocated goal. Our parish target is to raise a minimum of $1,245,000, of which we will receive 70% of the collected amount (or a minimum of $871,500) that will go toward parish needs. Additionally, we will receive 80% of all funds collected over our parish target. We will also include our 2018 House of Charity target ($144,446) in the overall total. Therefore, our total parish target is $1,389,446. We will use our share of funds to address the following

Dear Friends, Peace and all good!
In today’s 2nd Reading from I John, we hear these powerful words: Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God. Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and God’s love is brought to perfection in us. These words remind me of a quote from Les Miserables: To love another person is to see the face of God. On this Mother’s Day, we celebrate and honor the tangible love of God through our mothers, grandmothers, Godmothers, and all the special women in our lives. They are the face of the God we have not seen, and they make God’s love real to us. We are so grateful for our teachers at Assumption Regional Catholic School who make God’s love real to our students on a daily basis.
During this month of May, we also remember the love of Mary, who exclaimed in her Magnificat that all generations to come will call her blessed. We had a beautiful Mass and May Crowning on Friday. Our 2nd Graders led us in worship and were then joined by our 8th Graders for our annual Crowning of Mary. Many parents and parishioners joined us for this time-honored tradition. It was a very special day for our 1st Communion and Confirmation classes! How blessed are we to be able to join together to celebrate our Heavenly Mother.
We are very excited to announce recipients of the ARCS Fruit of the Spirit/Faithfulness Award for April: PreK: Daniel Cleveland, Owen Kennedy, James Siteman, Jacob Schettino and Olivia Tunis; Kindergarten: Kate Arnold, Willow Baake, Eishana Desai, Ryan Kivlin, Caroline Podolski, and Nolan Smith; 1st Grade: Noah Maldonado, Xavier Meade, Giulianna Petruzzi and Rowan Todd; 2nd Grade: Jilliane Ficcaglia, Sydney Hullings, Michael Pinto and Elysia Seward; 3rd Grade: Vaughn Amalfitano, Sauraya Delphine, Kieran MacKey, Julia Marigliano, Max Mendoza, Melissa Napoli and Briana Tejeda; 4th Grade: Julia Barrett, Nicolas Fiorella, Dawson MacNatt, Mary Pratt, Miguel Tabares and Justin Yon; 5th Grade: Gwen Amalfitani, Emily Fussner, Ella Jenkins, Morgan Mastro and Steven Flynn; 6th Grade: Eve Amalfitano, Ryan Batt, Jaden Dennis, Liam Mackey, and Millinda Marigliano; 7th Grade: Chloe Cooke, Morgan Dean, Sean Finan, Melanie Kerper, Andrew Migone, Ann Moran, Sophia Ohlsen, Michael Ring, and Christopher Thomas; 8th Grade: Amanda Clermont, Rebecca Crowley, Vanessa DeJean, Brianna Marcelin, Kathryn Steiger, Diego Taggart, Eduardo Taggart, Cheyenne Torraca, and Nathan Vekteris. Congratulations to all of these students for their Christ-like faithfulness in all that they do.
On Thursday, May 17 from 6:00 – 7:30, our school community will celebrate Family Fun Night. Our theme for this year is the Multicultural Mosaic of Assumption Regional Catholic School. There will be activities and lots of fun information as travelers grab a passport and jet set around the seven continents of the world. Our parish communities are welcome to join in the fun!
Assumption Regional Catholic School asks blessings on all mothers as we celebrate those living and deceased members of our school community.
Thank you all for your continued support of our school! We could not do what we do without you!
God’s richest blessings, Joan Dollinger
