“I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I
have loved you, so you also should love one another."
(John 13:34)
It is easy to love someone when they love you back. But it
takes strength and courage to love someone when we feel
unappreciated, used or feel our opinion doesn’t matter. It
takes courage to “love my neighbor” when he may be
someone I don’t like, someone I don’t know or someone
that doesn’t look like me.
TF139: Religion And Violence Part 2
Eric and Brett continue their discussion on religion and
violence. We attempt to pull back our presuppositions and
take an honest look at how our current cultural
perspective, which promises a lasting peace among all
persons divorced from any religious influence, and ask if
this is the solution or just a hidden part of the problem,
this week on Thinking Faith!

June 9th at 1:00 PM, Development and Peace –
Caritas Canada is inviting us to Share the Journey
Every minute, 31 people are forced to flee their homes
because they fear for their lives and safety. In solidarity
with forced migrants, Development and Peace – Caritas
Canada is asking Canadians to walk 40,075 km, the
equivalent of the circumference of the Earth. By
participating in these solidarity walks can help them reach
that goal, raise funds, and promote awareness about the
plight of all forced migrants who are our brothers and
sisters in Christ. A walk around Wascana Lake is being
organized on June 9th to walk in solidarity with refugees
and forced migrants. We will gather at 12:30 at the Walter
Scott Memorial and begin the walk around 1:00 PM.
Donations to support development work with forced
migrants will be accepted at the site.
For more information, please contact Cody Redekop at
[email protected] or 305-205-2334 ext. 210. See you
on June 9 at Wascana Lake!

Peace Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace:
Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. AMEN.

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs, Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears!
Turn then O most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy toward us,
And after this, our exile, show unto us The blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
