EACTS Quality Improvement Programme
The Quality Improvement Programme operates two international databases, the Adult Cardiac Database and EUROMACS.
The Adult Cardiac Database is a collaborative registry of cardiac surgical data from centres across Europe. Hospitals contributing to this database can access the registry and use its bespoke benchmarking features.
EUROMACS - the European Registry for Patients with Mechanical Circulatory Support, is a European registry for data from patients with mechanical circulatory support systems.
Adult Cardiac Database (ACD)
- Number of procedures: 125,353- Number of participating ACD centres: 57- Number of participating ACD countries: 12- Number of centres signed up: 90 - Number of countries signed up: 21

The ACD benchmarking tool provides:
- Advanced benchmarking features: Hospital selection page, patient profile, scatter view, procedure class breakdown, survival curves, clinical support tool, your patients’ details, data completeness
- Centre reports - provide a detailed summary of the hospital’s data in the registry, including statistical charts, comparative data and benchmarking outcomes.
- Control charts - measure the average monthly performance for your hospital against data for all other hospitals.

• EUROMACS is a European registry offering the tools to collect clinical procedural updates as well
as scientific data for patients receiving mechanical circulatory support (MCS).
• EUROMACS offers a software tool to enable users to administrate and analyse the clinical data of
their own patients on a daily basis.
• The data collected is made available for research purposes.
• EUROMACS enables comparison with all centres, but also with Intermacs-data or other registries
• EUROMACS provides annual reports on data and research
