Cooling factorThe cooling factor is calculated using Fluid Flow Analysis. Through this very high-tech computerized analysis system, particle traces are used to visualize and measure the motion of mass-less particles that are placed in a flow field. In our case we measure the velocity and tem-perature of the air as it goes through the hel-met in order to rate each helmet’s capacity to keep the head cool.The higher the cooling factor, the cooler the head.

Coefficient de refroidissement Le coefficient de refroidissement est calculé à l’aide d’outils informatiques très performants comme l’Analyse des courants de fluides. Nous mesurons la vitesse et la température de l’air lors de son passage à l’intérieur du casque de façon à déterminer la capacité du casque à maintenir la tête bien ventilée. Donc plus haute est la valeur mesurée, meilleure sera la ventilation. Il faut savoir que la tem-pérature de la tête à une influence directe sur les performances de l’athlète et il est donc primordiale d’utiliser un casque bien ventilé notamment en cas de pratique sportive intensive.

Factor de enfriamientoSe calcula utilizando el análisis del flujo de fluidos. A través de este sistema de análisis altamente tecnológico donde se utilizan medios informáticos de alto rendimiento, se mide la rapidez y la temperatura del aire cuando pasa en el interior del casco, para determinar la capacidad del casco en mantener la cabeza bien ventilada. Cuanto más alto el factor de enfriamiento, mejor será la ventilación. Hay que tener en cuenta que la temperatura de la cabeza tiene una influencia directa en el rendimiento del atleta, es entonces primordial utilizar un casco bien ventilado sobre todo en el caso de una práctica deportiva intensa.

Head contact surfaceThe Head Contact Surface indicates, as a per-centage, how much of the head is in contact with the helmet. It is clear that where the head is in contact with the helmet there is no room for the air to circulate, hence the HCS provides key information to rate helmet ventilation. The lower the HCS, the better the ventilation.

Hcs (Surface de contact avec la tête)Nous indiquons ici le pourcentage de la par-tie de la tête, recouverte par le casque, en contact avec celui-ci. Il est facile de compren-dre que là ou il y a contact entre la tête et le casque, l’air ne circule pas. Donc plus basse est la mesure HCS (Head Contact Surface), meilleure est la ventilation.

HCS (Superficie de contacto con la cabeza)“HEAD CONTACT SURFACE” indica, como porcentaje, cuánta superficie de la cabeza está en contacto con el casco. Está claro, que donde la cabeza esté en contacto con el casco, habrá muy poco o casi nada de aire que pueda circular. Por lo tanto, el HCS proporciona información clave para calcular el nivel de ventilación del casco. Cuanto más bajo sea el HCS, mejor será la ventilación.
