graders. If you are interested in helping with this annual event, please contact Cathy Wiese.

Adult Sunday School

Using “The Wired Word” curriculum, we will have a brief synopsis of a news story, followed by probing questions and a time for confronting the

issue with scriptures and hope. We gather in room #7 (Brick Classroom) 15 minutes after the end of the worship service. No Class on February 18.

Today – “2018 to Begin, Says Gregorian Calendar.” Consider: The Bible reminds us that God's calendar is different from ours:

"But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day" (2 Peter 3:8).

When does time seem to be a source of pressure and/or stress for you? When does time seem to be a blessing?

Regarding time, the Bible speaks of four dimensions: past, present, future and eternity. Which one does it emphasize the most? Why do you think that is?

How is time related to the call of God upon us?

Feb. 25 – “Iran Restricts Communication in Response to Protests.” Consider: Words are powerful and creative, so much so that Rabbi Abraham

Heschel once said, "words create worlds." Recent restrictions on communication in Iran give us an opportunity to reflect on the power of words -- both human and divine -- to influence individuals, events and the shape of the world around us.

Words play a significant role in protests, political campaigns, reform movements and religious revivals. When have you seen the world shaped by the power of words?

LEHIGH PRESBYTERY

JOIN US ON MISSION WORK TRIP TO SUMMERTON, SC

The Helping Hands Care Team of Lehigh Presbytery is planning a mission

work trip to South Carolina on April 14-21, 2018 to assist with the recovery

efforts after heavy rains and flooding caused extensive damage to the churches

and homes in that area. This will be their fifth trip to South Carolina.

They are seeking volunteers to help with the reconstruction. There are no specific skills or experience required, other than to be flexible and provide

whatever help is needed. Of course, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and dry wall

installation skills are always welcome.

Cost is $200.00 per person and volunteers must register by March

30, 2018. Registration forms and the flyer with information are available from your church office. Information for this trip can also be found on the

Lehigh Presbytery website at http://lehighpresbytery.org/our-faith-community/

care-teams/helping-hands/ or you can call (610-391-9020) or email
