Driving Growth: Knowledge Economy

Leeds City Region is home to over 8 Universities and 200,000 students, producing 36,000 graduates each year.Join the panel as we showcase how business and academia are working in partnership to retain talent and drive economic growth.

Driving future growth and new investment opportunities: thecore cities and the impact of the knowledge economyCo-organiser: GVA

Using GVA data on occupational demand, we will review current business space demand in each core city region and compare this against the rising business demand from the knowledge led sectors. This strong demand for space provides a unique opportunity to attract fresh investment from property companies, private equity and sovereign wealth, attracted by high growth companies and global blue chip occupiers. In the cities debate we will look to establish

What are the knowledge rich sectors that are driving growth

Where are the new clusters and locations for such sectors

What property investment opportunities do these sectors create?

What new products might be brought forward for new investment by each city to satisfy this growth?

How are the initiatives going to be successfully implemented?
