ECOlite motor chain hoists according to BGV D8

ECOlite hoists are stored in anextremely compact, verystrong light metal housing.Lifting speed amounts upto 12 meters per minute,depending on the version. The standard height of strokeis 18 meters, optionallyheights of up to 60 metersare attainable.

ECOlite hoists are seriallymade for double chainoperation. This enables thedoubling of stroke capacityat half lifting speed.

The Basicplate chain guide,made of special plasticmaterial allows a clean chainlead-in and prevents theunpopular jams that are alsochain-damaging. Furthermore,a high-value, specially reinfor-ced gear box and a preciselymilled lift-wheel with at leastfivechain pockets secure a low-noise operation.

We were aiming to achievemaximum reliability andoperation safety and optimal,flexible handling at the sametime. The results are featuressuch as motor and chainhooks, two resilient carryinghandles, a removablecloth chain container,possibility of two alternativemodes, as clamber andstandard installation (withoutconversion measures)and the Easymove specialchain guide.

The hoists are secured along life with an anti-bendguidance and specialclutches; all other guide metalparts are made of resilientstainless steel. It is of great importance –especially in everyday pro-fessional rigging – to be ableto rely upon a universal,steady working tool.

Movecat chain hoists of theECO series are constructedaccording to the demands ofthe BGV D8 standard.

They are equipped with a DCbrake of great precision and apatented overload protectionin form of a dry friction clutch.

These components hold thehanging load safely andreliably, in every operationmode.

Movecat ECO chain hoists areapproved by the Germanprofessional associationaccording to device safety lawand the BGV D8, and they arelabelled with a GS sign. They provide maximumoperation safety.

ECO hoists are distinguishedby their extremely compactform and a very stable lightmetal housing. The lifting speed can achieve12 meters per minute,depending on the version.

LMK hoists can be applied intheatre and studios, as well asin disco clubs, stage shows,marketing events and in fairconstruction.

The integrated contactorcontrol in combination withthe Movecat MRC handcontrol devices is the basis ofsimple and reasonably pricedsmall systems. With further modularextension, the LMK hoistsprovide solutions for almostall BGV C1 assignments instandard installation area.

Movecat LMK hoists containan integrated DC-SPScontactor control as well as abuilt-in gear box limit switch.

The maintenance-free,BG-approved camshaft gearbox switch with four separateoperation positions, prepa-ration and service (optional)types of movement.With their BGV C1 certificatethey offer maximum operationsafety.

In combination with the chainhoist controls MRC, Movecat’sLMK series allows operationon a wide range of setups.

Furthermore, there is anoption for special solutionssuch as specific ceiling gate-way movement, specialservice movement as wellas group movement with theX-Motion series according toBGV C1. In this case, severalhoists move a common load.Depending on the operatingconditions, groups can bearranged and controlledso that in case of error alerta specific group can beswitched off.

The chain hoists weredeveloped for needs of discoclubs, theatres and multi-purpose venues foradaptation of existent con-structions. With additionalequipment, they can beused for lower-scale mobilepurposes.

Like all other Movecat chainhoists, the LMK models arealso GS-approved andprovide a full CE conformity.They are flat in shape witha smooth surface and theyare available with chainlengths of up to 60 meters,for different lifting speeds.

The gear boxes are mainte-nance-free, they operateemerged in an oil pool andare made of low-alloy andsurface-reinforced chrome-manganese steel.Both electromagnetic, directlyoperating disc brakes workwithout a brake lever.The brake coatings are laid inring grooves, so that duringthe replacement sticking andriveting become superfluous.

Safety precautions consist ofa safety clutch as well asoverload protection by apatented brake-clutch systemthat allows only positive partsto act between the load andthe brake.

OMK hoists in combinationwith the MPC 4EC1 MotionPower Control Unit representa modular system inextension levels for up tofour hoists. The whole safetyequipment, the obligatorycontrol protection and thepower electronics are builtin a MPC 4EC1 device thatcontrols four OMK hoists.

This structure allows theimplementation of efficientfull systems according toBGV C1 even for hard-to-reach installation places,because the controllerMPC 4EC1 allows the checkof all parameters withoutopening the hoists.The operation state is repre-sented by light indicators onthe MPC controller and on theMRC remote control.

The Motion Power Control4EC1 is a control unit in a 19“metal housing for MovecatOMK hoists according toBGV C1. For full operation,it needs to be combined witha hand control unit MRC 4EC1or the chain hoist controllerX-Motion.

All contactors, protective swit-ches for overload and under-load as well as theoperation limit and e-stopfunctions necessary for theoperation of four OMK hoistsare here integrated. Four motor protectionswitches monitor the powercurrent.

A phase guard overtakesthe monitoring of phasesequence and symmetry. As option, there is thepossibility of group linkingof connected drives with theX-Motion controls. In this combination, singleOMK hoists can be gatheredin groups and operate in asystem of up to 64 hoists.

Programming and data stora-ge are performed by an exter-nal PC. The X-Motion soft-ware, enclosed with everydevice, supports Windows 95 /98 / 2000 / XP with anEthernet network card (10-Base-TCP/IP).

Each PC with X-Motion soft-ware can control up to eightX-Motion 8PC70 controllers;each controller operates up toeight chain hoists. This meansthat one system configurationcan control up to 64 drives –optionally, there is a possibili-ty of even larger setups.Software gathers single hoistsin groups, in order to enforcea cover-all safety control, asprescribed by the BGV C1.

With X-Motion systems, drivepositioning succeeds overexternal incremental encoders(8PC70) or a CAN bus absolu-te value encoder (8PC70A).

Together with the software,controllers enable synchro-nous movement of selectedhoists and groups, that can begathered in CUEs and movedwith time control. With help ofthe Delaytime function, evencomplex movements can besaved and selected in CUEs.

For preparation and serviceneeds, hoists can be operatedwith the 19” controller inbackup mode. This is alsovalid in case the operation PCshould break down.

During software development,great attention was investedto create an ergonomic userinterface, intuitive user gui-dance and full compatibilitywith Windows OS. The resultis a reliable and safe full solu-tion that fullfils all userdemands in accord withBGV C1.

All relevant system parame-ters of each connected driveare represented on the moni-tor; they offer the user amaximum of system controland overview. Position, opera-tion status and each error aredirectly displayed and mat-chingly evaluated to bring thedrive and its fellow membersof a group to standstill.

Creating complex and detai-led shows is made simplewith a clear hierarchical treestructure. Drives can be pro-grammed with different starttimes, which allows complexscenic setups, with little pro-gramming effort.

Die X-Motion Software offersthe possibility of gatheringdrives in groups. This enablescontrolled, track-synchronousmovement of loads that areequally divided among anumber of drives.

Positions of minus 3 to up to30 meters can be reachedwith centimetre precision.Target positions that are oftenemployed can be givennames and saved. Furtheradjustments, such as chan-ging stages, can be made bychanging the preset valuesjust once. All changes connec-ted with them will then reactto the altered referenceheights.

A simulation mode (Offlinemode) is also available; set-ups and shows can be confi-gured and programmed withfull independence from chainhoists and control units. Allyou need is the operatingcomputer and software. Thisis the optimal solution fortraining purposes as well as atime-saving feature whichallows preparing the shows inadvance.
