When you’re looking for an event that’s

exciting, unexpected, and cost-effec-

tive, Nebraska should be at the top of

your list. From one end of the state to

the other, you’ll find worthwhile attrac-

tions, inspiring natural beauty, and rich

history that infuse your meetings with

an authentic American flavor you’ll find

nowhere else.

Best of all, you can get everything

Nebraska offers and pay less than you

would in more populated states. The

low cost of living and travel are just two

things that make Nebraska the perfect

destination! What are some of the

other things? Well, take a look for

yourself!

Omaha’s Henry Doorly ZooRecently ranked the top zoo in the nation by Reader’s Digest, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo offers visitors some of the most advanced, engaging animal exhibits in the world. It features the world’s largest indoor jungle, the world’s largest indoor desert, the world’s largest nocturnal exhibit, and a new butterfly and insect pavilion. Your meeting’s guests will also marvel at the interactive aquarium featuring a shark tunnel, a penguin exhibit, coral reef speci-mens, and more. Beyond that, the zoo

boasts the Hubbard Orangutan Forest and Gorilla Valley and the Lozier IMAX Theatre.

And animals aren’t the only thing the zoo has plenty of. You’ll also find unique, usable space for your next meeting. Whether your group is large or small, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo can accommo-date you and even assist with catering.

Just north of the zoo is the city’s bustling, newly revived downtown. Enjoy some of the Midwest’s most acclaimed restaurants. Take in the art scene. Soak up the area’s history in the Old Market while you shop an array of unique modern stores. Downtown Omaha offers a variety of accommodations from economical to exquisite. No matter what type of event you’re offering, downtown Omaha is a great location.

Nebraska’s Rocks Nebraska truly is pioneer country. And when you hold your meeting in western Nebraska, you and your guests can witness firsthand the geological formations that guided waves of pioneers across the prairie.

Visit Scotts Bluff National Monument for a glimpse into this storied past. You’ll see genuine wagon ruts and remnants of the Oregon Trail as you trace the steps of settlers who came before you. You can even enjoy 18 holes in the monument’s sheltering shadow.

An even more recognizable landmark is Chimney Rock. Visible from more than 20 miles away, the towering spire let weary travelers know they were on the right path.

If you want your meeting to embolden attendees with the courage and vision of pioneers, seek out some of the high-end

meeting facilities in Scottsbluff or Gering. The twin cities also offer a wide variety of in-town dining, shopping, and entertain-ment options.

Strategic Air & Space Museum Ready to rocket your next meeting to success? Consider having it at the Strategic Air & Space Museum in Sarpy County. This unique venue will astound and enlighten your attendees and give you a space like you’ve never seen.

The museum is located between the state’s two major population centers, Omaha and Lincoln, giving you and your guests access to two distinctly different urban experiences. Nebraska’s capital, Lincoln, is the home of state government and the University of Nebraska. The downtown area is bustling with big-city activity and packed with historic charm.

The Sandhill Cranes – a Natural Phenomenon It’s like clockwork . . . every spring for the last 10 million years, one of the most impressive wildlife phenomen occurs right here in Nebraska. Between mid- February and mid-April, half a million sandhill cranes gather along the Platte River Valley as they make their annual migration north.

To give your guests a bird’s-eye view of this mesmerizing phenomenon, you’ll want to plan your event in either Grand Island or Kearney. Recently named by Forbes FYI magazine as the world’s number one destination for bird-watchers, Grand Island offers a variety of event venues, fine dining options, shopping, and attractions to keep meeting attendees occupied when they’re not mingling with their feathered friends.

Just down Interstate 80 is the city of Kearney. Here, you’ll enjoy ample meeting spaces and hotel accommodations and some of the most interesting attractions in the area, including the Great Platte River Road Archway and the Museum of Nebraska Art.

Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park and State Recreation Area Treat your guests to a taste of the Wild West at the Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park and State Recreation Area. Located in North Platte, the home of the famous cowboy Buffalo Bill, this unique stop will help instill your attendees with the brashness and innovation William F. Cody was known for.

While staying in North Platte, you’ll enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this western Nebraska town. Choose from a wide selection of lodging, dining, and entertainment choices.

Native Heritage Explore the history and culture of the first Americans in northeast Nebraska. In Winnebago and Santee, you can visit the tribes . . . and even attend an annual pow-wow if you plan it right! Stop by the Ponca Tribal Museum in Niobrara or the Woodland Trails Arts Center in Winnebago for a double dose of American Indian culture. While you and your guests are getting in touch with our nation’s native roots, make South Sioux City your base. With facilities fit for all sizes, the city is bound to provide the perfect venue for your next event.
