27 th March 2015 View on mobile device? Slide to see more. HEADMASTER LETTER PTO International Festival Thank you to the many parents that organized and supported with the PTO International Festival. It really is one of the most spectacular days of the year at ISHCMC and is only possible with the efforts of everyone involved. In addition there were games and activities on and off the pitch enjoyed by all. The event required a lot of setting up on the Friday evening and Saturday morning, so another special thank you those parents that were working behind the scenes to ensure another fantastic event. Appointment of New Deputy Head of School I am pleased to advise the appointment of Ms. Suzanne Murray to the position of Deputy Head of School commencing in August 2015. Suzanne will support Adrian in his role as Headmaster of the School. Suzanne is an experienced educator who is currently an Education and Leadership Consultant. She is a skilled senior leader with extensive specialist and general leadership and management experience, leading strategic, operational and cultural change and school improvement agendas. She has extensive experience and specialist knowledge in the areas of safeguarding, child protection and inclusion and has recent experience conducting school reviews in these areas in a number of international settings. Suzanne is currently working for a large academy chain in London, reviewing and establishing strategic systems, policies and procedures in all areas of inclusion, with a strategic focus on rapid school improvement. Suzanne holds a Bed Hons degree in Home Economics as well as a National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) from the National College for Teaching and Learning (Winchester UK). Previous positions of responsibility include those of Deputy Head Teacher and Senior Deputy Head Teacher at Carlton Bolling College, Bradford UK and Assistant Head Teacher at Challenge College, Bradford. Suzanne has twin daughters who attend University in Ireland and we look forward to welcoming Suzanne to our school in August. Borrowing Library Books The ISHCMC library now requires all students staff and parents to use their school security pass to borrow (and return) books from our library. I would be grateful for your support with this updated procedure. Have a pleasant long weekend! Simon Leslie Headmaster U11 GIRLS FOOTBALL TEAM U11 BOYS FOOTBALL TEAM The U11 Girls Football team played their first game last week versus AIS. The result was a fantastic 11 - 0. A tremendous result for their first game as a team and a reflection of great team work and focus. Well done girls! The ISHCMC Boys Football team was also an entertaining match against AIS. The result was a well-earned 6 – 0. Thank you all students and parents who stood and watched and cheered - see you next time. Thanks to all the parents and students that cheered on the sideline.

U11 Girls Football team

U11 boys Football team

The U11 Girls Football team played their first game last week versus AIS. The result was a fantastic 11 - 0. A tremendous result for their first game as a team and a reflection of great team work and focus. Well done girls!

The ISHCMC Boys Football team was also an entertaining match against AIS. The result was a well-earned 6 – 0. Thank you all students and parents who stood and watched and cheered - see you next time. Thanks to all the parents and students that cheered on the sideline.

An ISHCMC ASA hosted by Mr. Watts in conjunction with Animals Asia, will be having a sale of their merchandise in the canteen area after school on Wednesday, April 1st and Friday, April 3rd. Come to visit us for some great looking merchandise and an opportunity to join our efforts in protecting Asian bears!

The Life Bright Kids Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Training Course

ISHCMC course details:8am to 5:30pm Saturday, 4 April 2015 8am to 5:30pm Sunday, 5 April 2015

Join instructor Suzanne Vian RCYT, E-RYT, for a meaningful weekend of learning to teach yoga to kids.

Inspire the children in your life to build strength and stability, while keeping them engaged and stimulating their incredible imaginations through the practices of yoga and mindfulness. Teach them techniques to calm and center themselves, while cultivating a deeper body and mind connection and mental, physical and emotional balance.

This experiential training will teach you to share the practice through yoga stories, movement, music and games geared to teach kids how to be more mindful and aware. This 20 hour workshop will explore theory, games, and exercises appropriate for all ages, from toddlers to teens. Three hours of course homework will be completed in your free time, to support what you learn during your training.

Pto trash aNd treasUre saleSAVE THE DATE - PTO Trash and Treasure saleSaturday 18th April.

Don’t forget to clean out your attic over the holidays! You can donate used goods to the PTO and we will sell for charity or you can rent your own table and keep the proceeds from your sales. We will accept gently used clothing, toys, games, books, small appliances, kitchenware, home décor items and sporting equipment!

More information on how to rent a table, and where and when to donate goods, will follow in April. The sale is open to the public.
