Summer 2011 Luke and Laura Wycliffe Bible Translators So, the big news is that we’ve moved out of our home! We’ve been living with Laura’s parents since the start of July and have been setting up what will be our base when we’re in the UK. We had a yard sale and have taken umpteen trips to the local Salvation Army charity shop along with one or two to the tip! We are really looking forward to a chance to listen to, and receive from God, and to process both what has happened and what is about to happen. Summer 2011 Luke and Laura Wycliffe Bible Translators

So, the big news is that we’ve moved out of our home! We’ve been living with Laura’s parents since the start of July and have been setting up what will be our base when we’re in the UK.

We had a yard sale and have taken umpteen trips to the local Salvation Army charity shop along with one or two to the tip! It was an extremely busy time but we finally made it and tenants have now moved into our house. Praise God that the whole experience was not as stressful nor as emotional as we feared it might be.

An extended time of change…

At the start of August we are heading down to the Ichthus Bible week in Kent. We are really looking forward to a chance to listen to, and receive from God, and to process both what has happened and what is about to happen. Then we will be diving straight into our training with Wycliffe at their HQ down near High Wycombe. We will be studying there from August until mid December.

Luke finished his job at the end of June. He really enjoyed working within Social Services and hopes to stay in touch with his colleagues. Laura finishes at the end of July when schools close for the summer.

She will miss the kids who have already started a campaign to try and make her stay!

We’ve been doing some shopping to get a new wardrobe suited to a tropical climate that will hopefully last two years – we’re getting there but this has been an expensive and bewildering process! We’ve also booked our flights to PNG and so are literally now counting down the days until the 19th of January!

Points for prayer:

• to ‘connect’ with God during the Ichthus Camp

• the continued growth of a support team

• the ‘finishing well’ Laura’s job

• visa application approval

• strength as ‘goodbyes’ become more frequent and as ‘changes’ come thick and fast.

Through the Bible, God

can speak directly to every man, woman and child. But unless people have Scripture in their

heart language, they cannot read his message

of life and hope. Over 2000 languages still don’t

have even one Bible verse.

6.9 billion people. 6,900 languages. 1 world. 1 God.

1 Gospel.
