TRANSCRIPT
Dear Parents This will be our last newsletter for this term so we have some important dates within this newsletter.
Rippa Rugby Thank you to Mr Harvey and Mr Gillanders for organising the Rippa Rugby. They had some challenging opposition but the kids had a great day.
Class Photos These will be back early next term. Your child’s teachers will send the order forms home when they are available, for you to choose what to order.
One Can Two Can Thanks for your generous donations to help those in need who are assisted through the City Mission. Every bit helps.
ACS Football Our football team are out today at Auckland Christian Schools Football Tournament. Praying they have a great day. Thank you to Mr Harvey and Mr Gillanders for organising this.
Make a Wig Day Friday 23rd June is Make a Wig Day. Kids are encouraged to come along with a wig made out of anything they like, or even a crazy hair
do! Bring a gold coin donation to go to Child Cancer research here in Auckland. It’ll be good fun for the kids and for a great cause. We are doing this instead of Daffodil Day.
St Johns Next week (Monday – Wednesday) your child will be getting First Aid Training from St Johns Ambulance Associated facilita-tors. We think this is a very valuable time for all of our pupils.
Boostrix Immunisation day for the Year 7 pupils is on Monday 3rd July
Kapa Haka On Wednesday July 5th, we will be having another Kapa Haka group visit. This time from Rangeview Intermediate School in Te Atatu. This will end our term’s NZ Study. We have really enjoyed this NZ Study and the children hopefully have gained an insight into NZ Culture and the place they call home.
Art Expo Day Parents are encouraged to join the classes between 3 and 4pm on Thursday 6th July to see their children’s art work mas-terpieces. A letter went out yesterday regarding this and the opportunity to purchase their framed art work as a fundraiser for the school.
Last Day of Term Friday July 7th is the last day of Term 2 and we will be finishing at 3pm. Your child will be bringing home their mid-year re-ports.
Information on Your Child’s Report At Mid-year, most children will be progressing towards their goal of being At the Standard, by December of this year. Those that already are At or Above will be being extended at their level. The year is a journey some will be needing more one-to-one but that is okay too. We want every child to move forward on their journey at their speed. Every child will know what their next learning steps are in their report so they will know over the next 6 months what they need to do. We will be having a Parent Teacher Interview night next term, where you can discuss any areas of concern you have. The letter for this went out last week. Please ask your teacher if you did not receive it.
Friends Friends is a workshop coming to Auckland on 27th July 2017. This workshop will help children and adults to cope with life’s ups and downs by building resilience and self-esteem through teaching cognitive behavioural and emotional skills. This programme is aimed at 4-12 year olds. Looks really great. Contact is Jenny Bell 027 245 2749 [email protected] / www.jennybell.co.nz Have a great week everyone! Regards, Kent Wilson Principal

Newsletter—Term Two Week Eight 2017
Happy Birthday to our Staff born in June!
THE TRUTH ABOUT MARRIAGE
'You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.' John 8:32 NLT The idea of 'the perfect marriage' misleads and disillusions us, prepar-ing us to walk away when fantasy clashes with reality. And it always does! Only when you accept the truth about frail, faltering, frustrating people - and you yourself are one - can you find lasting happiness in marriage. So for the next few days let's look at some of the most com-mon misconceptions about marriage. The love bug: We think if we're in the right place, at the right time, with the right person, love will 'bite' us and we'll embark on a lifetime of bliss. The trouble is, when we are worn out from taking care of chil-dren, jobs and mortgages, the love bug flies off. In the daily grind of dishes, diapers, and drudgery, something has to give. So romance vacates centre stage and reality takes over. And because we confuse romance with true love, we mistakenly think love has moved out and we need to follow it. The truth is, love doesn't die because romance bows to reality. If two people who fall in love are willing to stand to-gether in love through the challenges of life, romance can blossom again stronger and more resilient than ever. Romance may bring us together, but unselfish love keeps us together. The Bible says: 'Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It... rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hope-ful, and endures through every circumstance' (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT).

PARKING While we are aware that we have limited parking to cater to our growing
school, however we are blessed to have more than most schools in our
area. Please be sure to take care with parking your vehicles. We had a
written complaint from a neighbour last week because of parents parking
on their front verge.
Take care coming in and out of the school property. Please be courteous
to our neighbours, and ensure you park legally. We encourage those who
do not need to rush, to park on the street and walk up to the school.
We are working on easing the parking difficulties, but in the mean time we
thank you for your patience.
LIBRARY We hope the kids are
all enjoying the great
selection of books in
our library along with
the new eBooks! We
are so blessed to
have such a wide vari-
ety. This can only be
maintained if the books are looked after and re-
turned when due. Please be sure to have all li-
brary books returned on time and before the end
of term. This will ensure the library is fully
stocked again for next term and gives all children
an opportunity to read the books we have on of-
fer. If you wish to donate any books that are in
good condition, please kindly deliver them to the
office.
RIPPA RUGBY
Thank you to Mr Harvey and Mr Gillanders for organising the
Rippa Rugby teams. There is a lot of work that goes on behind
the scenes for us to be able to attend these great days and we
couldn't do it without them, and our parent helpers.
