Pitt Tunnel (I-376 West), take Exit 69A, and stay to the left to loop back onto I-376 East. Before the tunnel, take Exit 69B for PA 51 South (this loop also works coming from 51 to go through Ft. Pitt Tunnel into town). Follow signs for “Downtown” to go through the Liberty Tunnel and across the Bridge to connect with I-579 and Bigelow Blvd. From 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Marathon Sunday, the area shaded in pink will be completely closed off to traffic. If you are going to be in that area and may need to leave during that time, consider parking your car outside the area. To get to the Smithfield St. Bridge: - From Parkway East - Exit 71A/Grant St, left from exit ramp onto Ft. Pitt Blvd. - From I-279/Ft. Duquesne Bridge - aim for I-376 East/Monroeville, stay left and follow signs for “Downtown,” at Wood St take left ramp up to Bridge. - From Parkway West - stay on I-376 East to Exit 71A/Grant St. First right onto 1st Ave. Safely turn around on 1st to go back to Grant St. Make a left and then bear right onto Ft Pitt Blvd. The Port Authority’s “T” system is free within Downtown and the North Shore, so it could make a handy alternative to trying to drive around the road closures in those areas.
