Foreword

The OptiX RTN 600 radio transmission system is a

type of short-haul digital microwave transmission

system developed by Huawei. The system supports

a maximum transmission capacity of 1xSTM-1

over one microwave carrier. The OptiX RTN 600

adopts a split-mount structure and a PDH/SDH

integrated microwave transmission platform. It

can be used to provide backhaul in mobile

communication networks or private networks, or

to compose transmission networks together with

optical transmission equipment.

Checking the SRV Indicator

The SRV indicator deserves the most attention, because it indicates whether

any fault has occurred to the current services.

When the SRV indicator is lit red or yellow, you need to check whether the

services are really affected.

No services are configured.OFF

Minor alarms or remote alarms are generated in the services.ON

Critical alarms or major alarms are generated in the services.ON

The services are normal.ON

Checking the BER Indicator

The BER indicator indicates the bit error conditions on the current

microwave link.

When bit errors occur on the link, query the actual receiving power of the

ODU by using the Web LCT, to exclude the influence of weather and climate.

Microwave bit errors have not exceeded the threshold.OFF

Cleaning the Air Filter

Clean the air filter once every two months.

Cleaning the air filter is necessary only for the IDU 620 that is configured

with fans.

If installed in a dust-proof outdoor cabinet, the IDU 620 is equipped with

no air filter. There is no need to clean the air filter.

Checking the ODU1. Verify that the ODU is within the protection

area of the lightning arrester.

2. Verify that the interface between the ODU

and the antenna is firm and reliable.

3. Verify that the interface between the ODU

and the antenna are properly sealed. Verify

that the sealing is water-proof.

4. Verify that the protection grounding cable

of the ODU is normal.

5. Verify that the ODU is damaged on the

surface.

board to be replaced is the working service configured with the SNCP, use the Web LCT or

T2000 to perform forced switching for the service.

Turn off the ODU-PWR switch of the IF board to be replaced. Disconnect the IF cable.

Make sure the version and type of the spare board are consistent with those of the board to be

replaced.

Remove the board.

Insert the spare board. Connect the IF cable.

When the board is working, observe the indicators. The STAT indicator should be lit green.

Turn on the ODU-PWR switch of the IF board.

If the SNCP forced switching was performed for the service, use the Web LCT or T2000 to

cancel it. If the 1+1 protection forced switching of the board was performed, use the Web LCT
