3. Select the path; where the software is located, and Click on “OK” to finish the setting. There shall not be any space or special character in the folder name; where the software is located.

4. Right click on the NE Explorer tab and then select “Search NE(s)”>search Gateways

5. Focus on the NE you find and then click on “Add Gateway”, then press “ok” to add the NE. Keep the field items as default as detected.

1 Performing the Upgrade

The NE software needs to be upgraded prior to the board software. This section describes the upgrade process from RTN 600 V100R001 to RTN 600 V100R003.

1.1 Creating a Package Upgrade Task of the NE software Step 1 Choose NE Software management ->NE Upgrade Task Management

Step 2 Choose New Task > Package upgrade/Downgrade Task from the shortcut menu.

Step 3 Set Task Type, NE Type and Device Version. Task Type: indicates the type of the task. Select Upgrade.

l NE Type: indicates the type of the NE. Select OptiX RTN 620 l Device Version: indicates the version of the NE. Select the version of the running NE

software on the NE.

Step 4 (Optional) Configure the operations that require manual confirmation to proceed.

l If you select Pause Before Current Operation for an operation, the upgrade task pauses before

the operation and requires your permission to proceed. If you do not select Pause Before Current Operation for any operation, the task proceeds until it is completed.

l We do not choose Precheck and Postcheck

Step 5 (Mandatory) Configure the data backup operation.

This step is performed to back up data to the PC. If an exception occurs during the upgrade, the NE configuration can be restored from the PC.

1. In the Operation Configuration dialog box, select the Backup check box, and then click Configure Backup Information.

2. In the Configure Backup Operation dialog box, select Data File and click OK.

Step 6 (Mandatory) Configure the software files to be loaded.

1. In the Operation Configuration dialog box, select the Load Software check box, and then click Configure Package.

2. In the Select Package File(s) dialog box, click to select the software package to be loaded. Then, click OK.

First only select SCC board for the software upgradation. Once SCC board is ugraded, later you shall upgrade the other boards.

Step 7 (Mandatory) Configure the software activation operation.

1. In the Operation Configuration dialog box, select the Activate check box and click Configure Activation.

2. In the Configure Activation dialog box that is displayed, configure the activation operation.

Details about the configuration parameters are as follows:

l Activation Time: indicates the date/time to activate the software on the NE in the first activation group.

You can set Activation Time as follows:

− Select the Activate Time check box.

− Click , and then set the activation time to a time later than the software loading time.

l : indicates creating an activation group. By default, one activation group contains one NE; the NE in a group is activated only after the NE in the previous group is activated.

l : indicates moving an NE to the next group. To move an NE, select the NE first.

l : indicates moving an NE to the previous group. To move an NE, select the NE first.

l : indicates unfolding the current view.

l : indicates folding the current view.

l : indicates deleting an activation group. To delete a group, select the group first.

Step 8 In the Operation Configuration dialog box, click Next.

Step 9 In the Confirmation dialog box, click OK.

1.2 Running the Upgrade Task Step 1 In the NE Upgrade Task Management window, right-click the package diffusion upgrade

task that is already created. Then, choose Start Task from the shortcut menu.

Step 2 In the Task Start Confirmation dialog box that is displayed, click Yes. The task progress information of an NE is displayed in the window. In the lower right pane, the state and result of each package diffusion operation are displayed.

Step 3 If the upgrade task pauses, do as follows.

1.3 Creating an Upgrade Task of the Board Software

The steps for creating an upgrade task of the board software are similar to the steps described in section 错误!未找到引用源。"错误!未找到引用源。". The difference is that only the board software is selected in the Select Package File(s) dialog box. Do not choose ocp.ini

1.4 Loading the License File The license is loaded through the function of board-level software upgrade provided by the T2000.

Step 1 Choose Board Software Management > Board Software Upgrade from the Main Menu.

When the Board Software Upgrade tab is displayed as follows, log in to the NE where a license file needs to be loaded.

When you are logged in to the NE, the NE icon turns green.

Step 2 Right-click the NE and choose Query Board from the shortcut menu. Then, the currently on-line physical boards are listed. Select only the SCC board from the board list.

Click to display the board information in the right pane. Click in the right pane to select the license file.

Then, in the Board software setting dialog box, select Ini, and click Select Software.

Select the license file to be loaded, click Open.

Click OK in the displayed dialog box. Then, the following dialog box is displayed.

Click Yes.

Return to the Board Software Upgrade window, click Start. Then, the DataCenter starts to load the license file. After the license file is loaded, click the highlighted Activate button. Then, the license file is activated.
