From the Principal’s pen A hearty good day from VOSSIE LAND.

And so the first term has come to an end and a wonderful holiday is in sight. Please note that as a result of precautions regarding the Corona virus, schools re-open on Tuesday, 14 April . (Keep an eye on the media – the date may be changed should a crisis arise). Congratulations to the Vossies who did so well on various terrains this week. Congratulations to each Vossie who participated in the winter sports matches against Hoërskool Menlopark over the weekend. Target shooting was also on top form. (see reports). Mark slips will be handed to the learners on 14 April. Formal reports will be handed out at the parents’ evening in the new term. (The new date will be communicated on a later date). Look after yourself during the holiday and if you'll be on the road, please drive safely. Everyone is wished a blessed holiday. Greetings

CLEARANCE AUCTION – We’ll help you to de-clutter Most family homes have things lying around – some big, some small – that are not used and cause a clutter. A clearance auction will be taking place at our Vossie Market and we need your “unwanted yet still good” clutter. Please bring to school – as soon as possible – anything that you don’t need so that we can sell it on auction or at our “white elephant” stall. Mr. & Miss. Vossie Finalists! After great excitement and curiosity, the Vossies announced their 24 finalists for the annual Mr. & Miss Vossie competition. (On Monday 16 March.) Congratulations to these boys and girls who did an excellent job during the preliminary round that took place on Tuesday 10 March. Thank you to all the participants who contributed to the success of the evening. It was great fun! The Vossies would also like to thank our judges for the event, Mrs. Ulrike Pohl, Miss. Mirandi Espach, Miss. Julese de Villiers, Mr. Tatenda Mabayah and Mr. Tapiwa Kuhlengisa. The 24 finalists will participate in the gala evening on 27 August 2020 which, as always, promises to be a glamorous event!

Vossie shots shine bright! Vossie target shooting is delighted! Two of the Vossie shots who recently participated in the interprovincial competition are among the selected shots in the country. They have been invited to participate in the SA trials. Congratulations Zander Engelbrecht and Maryke Basson. Unfortunately the trials were cancelled due to the Coronavirus precautions.

Ben Vorster, the Rhino and sharp shooters... On Saturday, 14 March the Vossie shots participated in the Rhino target shooting competition in Mokopane. Once again they performed excellently! In the U/21-group,Maryke Basson, Mareli Delport and Zander Engelbrecht took all the accolades. Maryke shot a brilliant 565/600 (94%) in the 3P with 922 points as a grand total. Her 10m-score was 357/400. She took first place in all the positions, Zander took second place and Mareli third in all positions. Mareli was second in the 10m-standing position. Mareli was altogether second and Zander third. Liam Meredith (U/21) was fifth. Tiard Thompson (U/16) was fourth with a third in the 3P-standing. Semilda van Hansen took a sixth place. In the U/14-age group, Mianel took a fourth place. Congratulations to each Vossie shot!

Vossie hockey did well against Menlopark! On Saturday, 14 Maart 2020, the Vossie hockey girls teams played friendly matches against Hoërskool Menlopark. The Vossie teams have been working hard in order to be well prepared for strong opponents. Congratulations to the U/16A-team with their win of 3-2 and to the U/15A-team who won 5-1. Vossie netball faced strong opposition against Menlopark! Vossie netball played against Hoërskool Menlopark on Saturday 14 March. Even though the teams faced very strong opposition against Menlopark , it was excellent experience playing such a strong school!
