Volume 32 AUGUST 2016 Issue 8 PATRIOT 3 GUN NATION MATCH The PATRIOT 3 Gun match held June 11 th & 12 th gave shooters up here in the northeast the largest most challenging 3 Gun match in the state. It also was our first 3 Gun Nation (3GN) associated match and our first glimpse at shooting an official 3GN classifier stage. Shooters were challenged with 5 stages in a full day match format with high round counts that stressed mind, body and gear. Three of the Five stages required all 3 guns while the last stage featured a shotgun only stage with a crazy 38 round run through the woods. There was a lot of equipment sharing going on to be able to carry all the ammo a shooter needed to complete the stage. The new range improvements showed their worth. We were once again blasted by rain before the match started, but because of all the work done to the range we were able to shoot the match with minimal mud to deal with. Shooters from all over the state witnessed and commented on how much the range has improved. This was the largest sanctioned match at ORGC with close to 50 shooters over 2 days. The competition was great and so was the comradery. Thanks to all the RO’s and workers who helped to put a match of this size on. THE LIGHTS ARE

ALMOST INThe East trap field lighting project has come a long

way. The light fixtures have arrived. The light poles have beenpainted and have been wired. The mounting brackets are being

installed. We are looking for volunteers to assistwith this project and bring it to fruition. See SteveVerdi for information about how to help.

SATURDAYOPEN TRAPCHANGES

Due to several conflicts that have arisen on Saturdaysthat we originally had scheduled for open trap shooting, we aremaking changes to accommodate these conflicts. The first Sat-urday in August we will now be having open trap shootingfrom 1-4 PM.

Due to reconstruction of the East trap house we willbe using the West field (Trap Two). Because of this there maybe some delays with trap shooting and those wishing to use thelong rifle range.

EAST TRAP HOUSE

REBUILD PROJECTAs many of you have already seen, the east trap house

has been razzed to make way for an expected new trap ma-chine. The trap house is now well under construction thanks toTony Massimi. Tony has been working diligently to rebuild thetrap house and at this point in time the three walls are up and isready for a roof and door. Thank you Tony for your efforts andyour skills at getting our new trap house built. There's still a lotof work to do and anyone wishing to assist with constructionshould see Steve Verdi and Tony for details on what has to becompleted.
