Rajya Sabha passes Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill The bill proposes to complete the insolvency resolution process within 330 days, including litigation and other judicial process. 14 days are set to reject or accept an application regarding the resolution process. The bill aims to ensure more clarity in the process. 3. National Medical Commission Bill passed in Lok Sabha The bill aims to provide qualitative and affordable medical education. It also intends to repeal the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. There is also a provision to set up the National Medical Commission as the regulator of medical institutions and the medical profession. 1. ‘Status of Tigers in India’ 2018 released The tiger census is released every four years. The total tiger population has increased to 2,967 from 2,226 in 2014, i.e., 33% rise. This is the biggest increase in terms of both percentages as well as numbers since the census began in 2006 (1,411). 4. IN LCU L56 ship inducted into Indian Navy IN Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 56 is the sixth ship of LCU MK IV class. The primary task of the ship is transportation and deployment of Main Battle Tanks, Armoured Vehicles, troops and equipment from ship to coast. 5. ICC launches World Test Championship The championship will be played over two years with top nine teams competing in 71 matches across 27 series. The top two teams will play finals in the UK in 2021. The top nine teams are- Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies.
