Permit Test @ Home

Parents/legal guardians can administer an eligible teenager’s Driver Knowledge Test from the convenience of their home.

To qualify as a test administrator a parent/legal guardian must:

possess a State-issued driver license or ID card.

certify you are the examinee’s parent/guardian.

commit to administering the exam in a room or facility where access can be limited.

ensure examinees do not have access to other mobile or electronic devices, documents, notes or writing materials during the exam.

Is there a time limit to complete the test?

The examinee has 30 minutes from the time test is started.

The test is scored as it progresses, so you will know the results immediately with an on-screen notification and email confirmation explaining next steps. A score of 80 percent or higher is required to pass.

When will we know the results of the test?

Additional attempts can be made. No additional fee is required.A |

What happens when a test is failed?

If the connection is lost, try again. It will not count as an attempt. A |

What happens if the internet connection is lost during the test?

Once they’ve passed the test, what are the next steps for my teenager to receive their

instruction permit?

Yes, they can take additional attempts at home as long as it is administered by a parent/legal guardian.

If my teenager completes and fails their first attempt at an on-site location can they take

additional attempts at home?

When you see or hear an emergency vehicle approaching:

Immediately drive to the right side of the road and stop

Slow down and permit the emergency vehicle to pass

Remain alert and stay to the right

A flashing red traffic light at an intersection means the:

Same as a Stop sign

Light is about to turn green

Same as a Stop light

If you are parking uphill and there is no curb, you should:

Turn your wheels to the right, toward the edge of the road

Turn your wheels to the left, away from the edge of the road
