PORTRAITUREPortraiture is incredible because it allows the photographer to capture a moment or relationship in another persons life they would not have had the privilege of witnessing were it not for their profession.

Few people grasp how incredible it is to be welcomed in to another persons experiences, if even just for a moment. Photography makes that possible. It allows you to see what otherwise would have gone unnoticed or unappreciated. It affords you control over time.

ENVIRONMENTALEnvironmental portraits are a great way to display the root of someones passion. The picture featured below is a woman at work in Pike Place market.

You can see the movement and her passion for her work. An environmental portrait will capture that better than any posed image.

The image to the left features two children doing what they love. They are playing with one another. That captured moment is priceless.

CULTUREPhotography can capture culture in a way that no written book ever could. The two women in these photos represent a different time, a different culture, a different way of life.

To capture that through the lens of a camera is an incredible experience. As a photographer you have now become part of something greater. You have become an influence over the human perspective.

RUSTRust runs in every direction. One might wonder the age of a vehicle like this. With many tests and scientific study its age could likely be revealed down the year or even month it began to sit unused.

No test would be able to tell you the circumstances under which it was left to rust or the miles it has driven.

But isn’t that part of the beauty of its deteriorating frame? The unknown? Embrace it.

PERSPECTIVENo matter how many times one object is photographed, with a little creativity, a new perspective can always be explored.

If this philosophy were more often entertained by people so greater would the understanding be of one another.

It is easy to judge. It is hard to view an alternate perspective. But oddly enough, those are the pictures that are most worthwhile.

CREATIVITYThe word “creativity” is the root of the worlds progress. Each day people wake up and choose to exercise their creativity.

What is the result? Incredible advances in technology, medicine, art and countless other things.

Successful exercising of creativity is a kind of currency and as the world embraces it, civilization comes that much closer to Heaven.

ABOUT MEI am a photographer, writer, designer, musician and the list goes on. It is my belief that there are gifts inside each of us and it is our privilege to discover what those are.

Photography is in fact a gift. It is one you can have, one that can change, and one you can share.

It is a miracuous thing to get behind the lens of a camera and capture special moments that will be cherished for generations to come.

There is a world too wholly unexplored to be boring and with a camera, I am a part of it.
