HULUREAD USER GUIDE V0.2

HuLuREAD is the FREE imaging data quantitation tool for customers of PixelBiotech GmbH. HuLuREAD works with you own private cloud drive to keep your data secure and safe. To use HuLuREAD, you must have an account with one of the following cloud storage service providers.

Step 1 Locate your data files in your local drive.


Tips In this example, we have three files to process: NSC_Malat1_HuLu_hybeff_002.czi NSC_Malat1_HuLu_hybeff_003.czi NSC_Malat1_HuLu_nohybeff_003.czi


Step 2 Login to your Google Drive (https://drive.google.com/) Navigate to the directory where you upload your data. Right click and select “New folder…” to create a new folder. Choose a proper name for the folder and click “CREATE”.

Tips Here, we named the folder “NSC_Malat1_HuLu_hybeff”.

Step 3 Navigate to the new folder just created. Right click and select “Upload files...”. Select the data files and click “Open”.

Tips You can also simply drag and drop files to the Google Drive window.


Step 4 Google Drive will upload your files automatically. Make sure all your data files are uploaded successfully.

Tips Uploading very large files may take a long time. Be patient. Be multitasking.


Step 5 Click the name of the folder at the top. Select “Share…” from the drop-down menu.


Step 6 Click “Advanced” to open advanced settings.


Step 7 Click “Change...” to modify folder accessibility.


Step 8 First, select “On - Anyone with the link” in the middle. Then, choose “Can organize, add, & edit” below. Click “Save”.

Tips This step allows HuLuREAD to have full access to your shared folder.


Step 9 Click the name of the folder at the top. Select “Get shareable link” from the drop-down menu. This operation will automatically copy the shared link URL to your clipboard.

Tips You can also use the URL in the browser’s address bar.


Step 10 Launch your email client and draft one email for “[email protected]”. Make sure you use a subject that is meaningful to you. Paste that shared link URL to the body. Send the email.

Tips Have multiple shared data folders? No problem. Send them all.

Step 11 You will soon receive a confirmation email from HuLuREAD Service. HuLuREAD will automatically list data files in your shared Google Drive folder.

Tips Click the link will take you to the shared Google Drive folder.


Step 12 HuLuREAD will automatically process your data files in the backend. You will receive another notification email once all data has been processed.

Tips First Come, First Served. HuLuREAD may need to finish other requests before starting processing yours.


Step 13 Reports (.xlsx file) will be automatically uploaded to the same shared folder. To download a report file, right click on the file and select “Download”.


Step 14 Inspect report files and conduct downstream analysis and quantitation.
