Shaking IncubatorsThese combined incubators and shakers have been designed to provide controlled and uniformconditions. Forced air circulation ensures uniform heating. DuoMax Rocker 1030The Duomax is an electronically controlled two dimensional (2D) rocker with a steplessly variablefrequency ranging between 2 and 50 movements per minute. The model incorporates a timer allowingpre selection of rocking intervals between 0–120 minutes or continuous operation.

Polymax Rockers 1040 and 2040The Polymax 1040 and 2040 are three dimensional (3D) asymmetric rockers providing exceptionalreliability and quality. Both units feature a timer which can be pre-selected between 0 and 120 minutesor for continuous operation and are available with either a 5° or 10° tilt. The Polymax 1040 has amaximum load of 5kg whereas the Polymax 2040 is designed for loads up to 10kg.

The Duomax 1030 and Polymax 1040 rockers can be used with the Incubator 1000 with high hood forstable temperature control, see page 921. All models have a three year warranty.

Incubator 1000 SeriesIncubator 1000 is a system for the simultaneous shaking and temperature stabilisation of liquids in alltypes of vessels. CERTOMAT® Incubator ShakersCERTOMAT® incubation shakers from Sartorius provide a temperature controlled environment for cellbiology and other applications.

Temperature ranges from 8°C above ambient up to +70°C, with the optional integrated coolingbetween 10°C below ambient and +70°C can be achieved. All units have shaking orbits of 25 or 50mmand can be run up to 400rpm.

CERTOMAT® incubation shakers are fully programmable for all parameters: up to 5 programs with 4steps each can be stored password protected. Safety features include a memory function that stores thelast set points and installs them after power failure, and a stainless steel spill tray. Continuous recordingof all parameters is possible by analogue output. The CERTOMAT® IS is a benchtop model with smallfootprint of 540x680mm and can be used for flasks up to 3L in volume.

The CERTOMAT® BS-1 is a large capacity unit for up to 6x5L flasks. Illumination units for photosynthet-ic applications are optional. Three CERTOMAT® BS-1 units can be stacked without additional equipmentand run independently. In addition, the height of the BS-1 makes it an ideal incubator shaker to locateunder a bench. Unlike many large incubator shakers on the market, its hinged doors will not get in theuser’s way when accessing the chamber.

The CERTOMAT® BST is a top loading incubator shaker with the same features as described above for theBS-1, but includes an interior made of polished stainless steel (314) for easy cleaning and sanitising.

Accessories for CERTOMAT® Benchtop ShakersCERTOMAT H/HK Incubator Hoods The incubation hoods allow control of sample temperatures in an airstream with a minimum of laboratoryspace. In combination with the CERTOMAT® benchtop shakers, bacteria and yeasts can be cultured underoptimum conditions. When combined with an external cooler or a coolant line the CERTOMAT® HK willeven enable culturing at temperatures near or below ambient. SK Series Benchtop ShakersA range of three benchtop shakers with platform sizes 350x350mm, 450x450mm and 755x481mm. Allmodels feature the patented rotational monitoring system that ensures the platform stops in the sameposition each time - ideal for remote titration into flasks or beakers. They have a brushless motor and anti-weight flywheel system which reduce vibration and noise considerably. The flywheel counterbalancesystem also includes 3 orbital diameter settings of 20, 30 and 40mm (delivered at a factory set 30mm*).

SI/IS Series Refrigerated Incubator ShakersThe SI/IS series shakers feature PID control for accurate temperature and shaking speed. They have abrushless motor and anti-weight flywheel system which reduce vibration and noise considerably.

Models SI-300R and SI-600R benchtop shaking incubators use the SK series shaker platforms (see page 931) as a base. They combine accurate and reliable shaking speed with multiple functionality.

The program feature allows for bi-directional orbit setting and pause modes for precipitation protocols.Temperature is controlled by PID microprocessor and the re-calibration feature of the Pt100 probeensures consistent long-term validity. Ideal for ISO or GLP environments. The integral refrigeration systemon models SI-300R and SI-600R allows process temperatures to be achieved from +15 to 60°C.

Other features include: Error display and lock function; auto-run / manual-run function and CLS (CustomLogical Safe) control system with over-temperature cutout (exceeds Class II protection).

Model IS-971R is a floor standing, chest style shaking incubator providing high capacity and highperformance. The platform can accommodate up to 39x 250ml flasks. The IS-971R features over-temperature protection (hydraulic type), over-current glass fuse and key lock switch. As with the 300/600models; the user can select orbital or reciprocal motion. The IS-971R has a low chamber temperaturedown to 4°C and now includes a RS232 data port for recording and control from a PC or laptopcomputer and comes complete with LabTrace software.

Innova 44 & 44R Incubator ShakersThe Innova 44 series shakers can be stacked up to three units high, tripling the capacity of space usuallyoccupied by a single incubator shaker. Based on the Innova 4400 series, the Innova 44 includes manynew standard features and the latest technology available. The Innova 44 offers incubation, while theInnova 44R adds refrigeration, both with temperature control of ±0.1°C. A counterbalanced door glidesup and out of the way and a slide out platform provides easy access to samples. Both models have amulti-function reservoir with built-in drain facility, which collects spills and can be used to humidify thechamber, reducing sample evaporation.

For timer and parameter control, both models have four modes:

Classic C-Line ShakersThe Classic C-Line shakers are built to the same high standards as the Innova range of shakers, whilstproviding a more cost-effective option.

Models C1 and C2 Platform Shakers Smallest of the C-Line platform shakers are two portable shaking machines that provide smooth, uniformshaking action, yet are built to sustain a broad range of agitation.

Both models have identical drive mechanisms that are built for continuous operation inside incubatorsand environmental rooms. Their low profile design allows multiple units to be stacked on shelves andoperated in an incubator or environmental chamber. Stabilized shaking in a 3/4” (1.9 cm) orbit impartssmooth, uniform and reproducible motion to all samples.

Model C1 is an analog controlled shaker without a digital display. This model contains reference cali-brations that allow shaker speeds to be set manually and reproduced from one run to the next.

Model C2, a microprocessor-controlled digital shaker, is equipped with an LED alphanumeric display.This model controls speed utilises microprocessor feedback control to maintain an agitation rate within2rpm in a range from 50-400rpm and provides pushbutton setpoints, programmable running time,automatic shut-off and digital alarms.

Model C10 Platform Shaker Model C10 is the largest in the family of benchtop C-Line shakers. Using microprocessor technology,this platform shaker provides digital alarms and self-correcting feedback control that locks onto speed,achieving precise rates of agitation and producing a wide range of speed from 40 to 400rpm. The C10imparts slow speed stirring for shear-sensitive cells, as well as vigorous shaking for the agitation ofbacterial suspensions.

A precision eccentric drive mechanism accounts for exceptional stability and vibration-free performance.Even with a full load at maximum speed, the counterbalanced drive imparts smooth uniform motion toall flasks. The shaking platform is rotated horizontally in a one-inch (2.54cm) circular orbit by acontinuous duty industrial-type ball-bearing motor. The shaking rate is indicated on a three-digit LEDdisplay in increments of 1rpm.

Model C24 Benchtop Incubator Shaker Model C24 is a benchtop environmental shaker that combines a built-in precision orbital shaker with acontrolled-temperature incubator. Equipped with a heavy-duty industrial motor, the incubator shakerrotates the workload through a precision eccentric ball bearing drive that sustains continuous-dutyshaking over a wide range of speed.

A self-correcting microprocessor controller compensates instantly for deviations in temperature andworkload, and for the thermal influences of exothermic reactions.

The shaker platform rotates horizontally in a 3/4” (1.9cm) circular orbit, imparting uniform agitation toall samples. Stepless speed regulation from 50 to 400rpm is achieved by a microprocessor controllerwith feedback regulation that compensates automatically for speed deviations.

A tightly-fitting lid is designed to attain close temperature uniformity in a range from approximately 7°Cabove ambient to 60°C. The acrylic lid provides easy access to samples in the chamber. Tempered air isdispersed uniformly throughout the chamber by a large capacity circulating fan that distributes the air toevery cubic centimeter of chamber space to ensure accurate temperature control and rapid thermal recovery.

Classic C-Line Shakers, continued…Model C24KC Benchtop Refrigerated Incubator Shaker The C24KC is a benchtop shaker with refrigeration, for culturing cells at near and below ambienttemperature. It offers considerable cost and space savings over refrigerated chest models, yet is capableof handling test tubes and flasks up to 2 litres. Built-in refrigeration is especially useful for growingcultures that can only grow over a narrow temperature range or those which exhibit optimal growthrates at near or below room temperature. The sophisticated microprocessor automatically compensatesfor changes in ambient room temperature and to changes within the chamber due to heat generated bygrowing cultures. The double pane acrylic door eliminates condensation and is designed to maintainclose temperature uniformity. Additional features include:

Model C25 Floor Standing Refrigerated Incubator Shakers The large-capacity Classic Incubator shaker is available in two models – the standard Model C25 thatcan accommodate flasks from 50ml to 6 litres, and the Model C25KC that is equipped with CFC-freerefrigeration for above-and below-ambient applications.

These floor model incubator shakers are widely used for the growth of biological cultures under variedconditions of temperature, and are built for a lifetime of continuous performance.

Reproducible agitation is attained with a continuous-duty drive mechanism powered by a brushlessindustrial ball-bearing motor that rotates the shaker platform precisely in a one-inch (2.5cm) circularorbit. To further minimize friction and stress, the console rests on a total of ten adjustable feet thatabsorb residual vibration, help stabilize the workload and prevent creeping.

Shaker speed and temperature are precisely regulated by a microprocessor controller that maintainssetpoints within very rigid tolerances.

Aided by a high velocity air circulation system, temperature is accurately maintained within ±0.25°C.Quick response and rigid temperature regulation is achieved through a microprocessor controller coupledwith pulse-width modulation of the heater. Air is dispersed uniformly throughout the chamber, providingrigid temperature control. This design ensures that all samples are exposed to the desired temperatureregardless of sample location.

Model C76 Water Bath ShakerModel C76 is a ruggedly built controlled-temperature water bath shaker designed for continuous-dutyorbital shaking. The advanced design comprises pushbutton setpoints, self-diagnostic status lights andalarms that warn of any functional deviation from control tolerances.

With a broad speed range from 50 to 300rpm, the C76 imparts gentle stirring for hybridization and gelstaining, and the growth of shear-sensitive cells, as well as vigorous agitation and aeration for intensegrowth of bacterial cultures.

The C76 microprocessor controller compensates automatically for changes in workload and voltage tomaintain setpoints and control tolerances with exceptional precision. In the event of a power outage, theC76 retains all of its memory, restarting automatically after power is restored. Additional features include:
