STRATEGY DEVELOPMENTWe start by asking questions:

We begin by asking the filmmakers, distributors, and funders to articulate their goals for the film and campaign, and how they define success.

We then identify and interview partners, influencers and leaders in that particular issue space and create a short findings document.

After this research phase, we deliver a full strategy, complete with a timeline, budget, suggested messaging, key partners and confirm the call to action and key performance indicators. We remain flexible and nimble throughout the campaign to ensure no opportunities are missed.

PARTNERSHIPS

• Identify organizations and experts, then develop and maintain relationships with them throughout the life of the campaign

• Develop specific initiatives between the film and partner to achieve shared goals

• Create opportunities for partners and their communities to engage with the film

• Collaborate on preexisting events and campaigns and find unique ways to plug in and highlight the work already underway. We don't want to reinvent the wheel but instead shine a light and organizations further their goals 

Partnerships are essential to the development and execution of the engagement campaign. Here is what we do:

• Organize screening tours with the partner’s local chapters and leadership

• Arrange tastemaker screenings for influential groups

• Coordinate group sales and “eventize” opening weekend in theaters

• Plan house parties for the broadcast and online release

American Promise

United Way and the NFL will co-sponsor an American Promise Education Town Hall during the week of the theatrical release to have a national dialogue on black male achievement with education influencers and local community leaders.

PARTNERSHIPSInequality For All

In addition to partnering with a range of organizations across various issues, we have partnered with Upworthy to drive online action and inspire offline engagement. A single post from Upworthy yields an average of 20,000 actions.

It’s a Girl

We partnered with the online platform Causes to be our hub of social action to drive funds and petition signatures for four organizations on the ground in India and China. Over 465,000 people joined this campaign.

God Loves Uganda

We are working with the faith-based divisions of HRC as well as the RFK Center, and the affirming chapters of the Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran and Episcopalian denominations to create resources and workshops to accompany our screenings.

COMMUNITY SCREENINGS

• Design and maintain the screening calendar on the film website

• Write and design screening related documents

• Assist with travel arrangements for the film’s directors, production team, and subjects in the film

• Serve as main point of contact for publicists and distributors

• Produce tastemaker experiences / buzz building events

• Manage relationships with screening hosts (US and Internationally)

• Maintain a comprehensive database with all contacts

• Distribute and analyze feedback forms to make sure we’re getting the most out of each screening

• Coordinate broadcast viewings and house parties with accompanying online conversations

• Develop and design supporting educational and promotional materials

First Generation

Screened at over 250 high schools and colleges in late 2012/2013.

Screened at the British Parliament, European Parliament and on Capital Hill with key political figures, women’s health activists and over 100 universities.

God Loves Uganda

Screened at the National Cathedral in DC on International Day Against Homophobia, and is currently screening at churches and seminary schools across the country.

SPEAK

Screened at over 150 Toastmasters International chapter meetings around the world.

American Promise

Screened at Google New York Headquarters and is currently screening at urban community centers, conferences, and  educational training institutes, including Teach For America, teacher training institutes.

The Crash Reel

Designed and managed the live discussion for the HBO broadcast premiere of the film. Over 17MIL people reached, over 58K checked in on GetGlue.

DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT

• Project manage website development and presence on social media platforms

• Set the messaging and tone for social media posts

• Content production - including online videos, infographics, memes etc.

• Identify online influencers and champions to drive awareness

• Engage bloggers at key points in the campaign

• Establish clear, meaningful online actions (ie online petitions, user generated contests)

Creating your online strategy early in your campaign development process is crucial. We will work with you on the following:

Escape Fire

Grew Facebook page from under 1000 to over 14,000 and received over 40 million Twitter impressions during the CNN broadcast, causing #rescuehealthcare to trend on twitter.

Increased Facebook community by 100,000; Developed photo sharing campaign with LoveisLouder; Managed relationship with DoSomething to develop the online BULLY Project quiz, which 197,000+ students have engaged in.

It’s a Girl

Wrote and designed the Manifesto, which was signed 100,000 times through Causes, Upworthy, social media and the film's website.

American Promise

Grew online profile and engaged with 8K fans weekly on social media profiles and established content partnerships with BET, Education Nation, NBC's The Grio, and Great Schools, for online theatrical and broadcast promotion. 

God Loves Uganda

Drove 80,000 trailer views through creative online partnerships and promotions.

Email hello@ picturemotion.com with the name of your film, a link to video footage, a brief overview of the project thus far and your distribution timeline.

We’ll respond within 5 business days and ask you about your goals, your current resources and what specific support you are looking for.

We will watch the film and as a team, we complete an internal analysis that helps us gauge if we’re able to effectively meet your goals.

We will submit a formal proposal.

Upon approval, we’ll sign a MOU and get to work!
