Market research

To get to know our target group, we spentseveral weeks looking for information about

how they work, in which environments, andwhich tools they use. Some of it is shown here.

We also conducted a few interviews and posteda questionnaire in a craftmen page in Facebook

and gave it to other craftmen by e-mail. Tothe right a summary of the results is shown.Combined with what we thought our design

should have, the main objectives that we had toachieve in our design were established

LEGO BOX

The aim of this project was to design a new Lego box thathas great functionality, possibility of permanent storageand durability, so it would sur vive a childs play life. Thishad to be achieved while preserving the brand values.

Rolling box

The idea was to make a boxthat was a toy itself, not just acontainer.Children love using rollingthings, for example theshopping trolley, so it would

be great if they could rolltheir Lego Box.

Extensible handle

It can be used by childrenfrom different ages.

Easy dissasembling

All pieces are made of the same material,and are easy to dissasemble. That makes

easier the recycling process.

Colourful and stackable

Makes it attractive for childrenand stands out in the store.

The objective of this project was creating a whole corporateimage: name, logo, official documents, etc. The corporateimage was then applied to different kinds of objects thatcould be used to promote the company.

The aim of this project was creating a safe scooter forchildren while learning how to work with differentmaterials. Therefore, filing, sanding, bending or wel dingwere some of the processes used to make this 1:2 scootermodel.

This project consisted on designing a studio lamp usingLight Emitting Diode Technology, not focusing only onthe aesthetics, but mostly in acquiring knowledge of thewhole development process.The project is divided into these sections: memory (aim,market research, final design, manufacturing process),technical drawings, calculations (both electrical andmechanical), budget, specifications sheets and safetystudies.

This project was developed in Mencke & Vagnby studio.The objective was to create a series of business to businessgifts, that should appeal to business people. The line wasdesigned in two main materials: stainless steel and blackplastic.

It can be used instead of theplastic ID holders that look

cheap and weak. It is easy to puton and off. The slight curve on

the inside holds the card so itdoes not fall off.

It can be orientated as portraitor landscape. The designplays with the plugs, not onlyadding them to the design, butintegrating them.

Apart of being a USB stick, itwas thought to be an accesory

that one could wear, combiningwith his clothes.
