The Institute has one of the biggest campuses in Asia with excellent infrastructural facilities. We are second in the world next to the USA to start two years Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging Slide 13 Current Status The course commenced in 1985 and the curriculum is regularly reviewed with addition of new subjects We started with students in-take of 15 Now we are in the 27 th batch of the course Today our students intake has been raised into 180 Slide 14 The Training Four semesters over two years The curriculum is designed to cover all the aspects of packaging which includes package manufacturing, package machinery manufacturing and packaging for user industries like food, pharma, cosmetic and others. In order to provide sound technical knowledge 40 percent of the curriculum is allotted for practical sessions. The theory part includes classroom sessions and library reference work. The Practical sessions include laboratory exercise, Industrial visits, project work and industrial training Slide 15 The Training (I semester) The First semester of the course covers the following major subjects Mathematics I, Science (Physics & Chemistry), Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Mechanisms, Applied Mechanics I, Packaging Technology I, II & III (Introduction To Packaging, Cellulose Technology, Fiberboard And Glass Technology ), Engineering Drawing, Industrial Visit & Practical (Packaging Technology) Slide 16 The Training (II semester) The Second semester of the course covers the following major subjects Mathematics II, Economics, Applied Mechanics II, Industrial Electronics, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery, Packaging Technology IV, V, VI (Plastics, Lamination, Coating And Metal Containers), Packaging Printing Technology, Machine Drawing, Industrial Field Visit, Project Work, Library Reference And Practical Slide 17 The Training (III semester) The Second semester of the course covers the following major subjects Production management, Financial management, Principles of management & entrepreneurship, Marketing, Marketing research, Materials management, Packaging technology - VII, VIII, IX, X & XI (cushioning, wooden containers, foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and chemicals, laws and regulations), Communication skills, Industrial visits and Practical Slide 18 The Training (IV semester) The IV th semester (Final semester) includes the following activities Five months Industrial Training and report Overall performance Slide 19 The Library..
