DESCRIPTION

This presentation gives the detailed on field testing that we carried out to test our 3 prototypes. Paper mockup being the basic one and web mockup, the advanced one.

As per the guidelines of mentors, we

decided to improve the mock-up

Page 4: Prototype testing summary 2

We felt that the use of survey wont work, so

we added feedback questions to the paper

mock up.

Redesigned the mock up based on the

previous user feedback.

› Removal of enter page

› Correction of irregularities

› Change of Map

More accurate to the would be service

“First page is not important”

“ I did not understand: what do the green dots stand for? are they a signal of open or that they are suitable for me?”

“page is good and good for confirming. Send a request & new search -buttons could be in the other order”

“What are the priorities I should choose? they could be visible on the first page already (at least some of them)”

Page 7: Prototype testing summary 2

The service was well received.

Usability comments from users was useful

All the users liked the concept and one of

them even wanted to help in building the

service

2 of the users wanted to know from when

they can use it(app release)

Page 8: Prototype testing summary 2

The purpose of the Digital mock up was to test the usability and integrity of the service

Again irregularities were handled.

Few more features (services and libraries) added

This new version was not tested because in the implementation camp, we decided to change the focus of the service

Page 9: Prototype testing summary 2

The change of focus was to concentrate on 3

primary concepts namely

› Discovery

› Request

› Promotion

The previous app was not falling on this line.

The application was primarily based on the

evidence that users like the service to be

interactive.

› Evidence was the map listing in the digital app

Page 10: Prototype testing summary 2

The service was tested on big screen(Laptop) as well as small screen(Tablet)

The concept of service discovery can be targeted using the below interface

Page 11: Prototype testing summary 2

The users can request a service by making a

request at a particular library.

These requests can

See be seen on the

Interactive map

Page 12: Prototype testing summary 2

Finally the users or citizens can promote a

request by voting.

With promotion, user can learn about new

services or already existing services

Page 13: Prototype testing summary 2

“A good idea! Very useful and quick. I will

use it a lot”

“The outlook is clear and it seems easy to

use”

“It seems easy to use and it's good to see all

libraries on the map.”

“Very good service but not for me(since I’m

looking for quiet space)”

“ease of use + clean interface”

Page 15: Prototype testing summary 2

“Add all libraries in the map and also routes

how you can get there by using public

transports.”

“More Libraries, may be in future all libraries

in the world. And the list of libraries at the

edge”

“Would be useful to have this also in finnish”

Page 16: Prototype testing summary 2

How would you describe the usefulness of

the service? [1 - least useful, 5 - most

useful]

› Average rating 4.14

How would you describe the ease of use

of the service? [1 - least desirable, 5 -

most desirable]

› Average rating 4.14

Mikko

› “Request for renting things @ Library 10”› “It would be great if there would be a possibility in every library at Metropolitan area to

rent things from another people. Like for example you could rent a digital camera

from the library. The camera would be delivered to the library by someone that don´t

use it so often.”

Rous

› “something for everyone @ Sello”› “In library there should be a quiet place for those who are studying. Usually people

talk so there should be separated places for studying people. Then there could be a

room for people to hang out and there you could talk as loud as you want to. It would

be a place for young people but also olders.”
