Description and success indicators
Success Indicator Definition / Methodology / Remarks Percentage of CFE/CFO applications disposed within stipulated time
Timely disposal of completed CFE/CFO applications in percentage.
Inspection and sampling of operating industries; • 17 Category • Red (excluding 17 Cat) • Orange (Large & Medium) • Green (Large)
The percentage of inspections and sample collections are focused on the significant polluting activities viz. 17 category (Once in a Quarter), Red category (Quarterly), Orange category (twice a year), Green category (Once in a year) to improve the environmental performance of such units. In this process the willful violators/defaulters are identified to initiate further course of action.
Analysis reports of Environmental Monitoring The monitoring of surface water, ambient air and ambient noise is an important component of pollution control programme. It helps in assessing the level of pollution and to initiate mitigative measures. It is proposed to monitor additional 3 metals (Pb, Ni &As) and PM2.5 in Ambient Air as per the new Ambient Air Quality standards which will take the total number of parameters to 6. No. of days monitored indicated excluding maintenance (7 days in a quarter)
Ensuring compliance after inspection Action taken to bring non complying units after inspection and sampling. Verification of categorization of industries as per notification dated:4-1-2013
Verification of categories to be carried out by RSEO’s in their region & submission of report to Board Office
No. of STPs inspected against 405 (construction projects) and ULB STPs 55 (ULBs-41, BWSSB-14).
The total number of STP’s inspected against the STPs established for the construction projects in Bangalore.
Completion of report Number of MSW sites monitored
The sewage generation and its treatment from the local bodies is a issue to be addressed from the point of improving water quality both surface and subsurface. Hence, it is proposed to prepare a status report on the sewage generation from the municipalities and status of treatment. There are number of municipal solid waste dump sites located in the local bodies. The environmental quality monitoring (ambient air, ground water and soil) around the dump site is a significant indicator to assess the status and to take mitigative measures.
