Secret Theatre seizes on a unique opportunity that the redevelopment of the Lyric provides. Whilst a new extension is built and areas of the existing building are transformed, the auditorium remains untouched. We intend to continue to produce work throughout the closure.
A Secret Theatre at the heart of a building site bringing together a company of actors, writers, dramaturgs, directors and designers.
This is our manifesto. We feel hungry for change. We think art is not a commodity. We hope confusion can be revealing. We trust failure is as instructive as success. And we believe that theatre matters. One year. 20 artists. And you. Come and share the secret.
