primary education in Mexico He graduated from Colegio Biblico inEagle Pass Tex^ in 1976. In November 1976 he married VickieLynn Gibbs daughter of veteran missionaries Harold and IreneGibbs

Vickie, bora in Greencastle, Indiana on November 17, 1956,received her education in the Eagle Pass Texas public schools andSouthwest Texas State University. They have one son, ChristopherAlan, born August 4,1978 in Guatemala.

Gabriel has been serving in Guatemala since May 1976, joiningHarland Gary and Herb Watkins who were working with International Disaster Emei^ency Services Inc. IDES in the reconstruction of San Raymundo, one of the mountain cities heaviest hitby the earthquake of 1976. This program received special recognitionby the president of Guatemala as the most outstanding reconstruction of all the groups who went in to help after the disaster.

At the same time the physical reconstruction was taking place apr ^ram of spiritual buildii^ was also being carried out. After the

One unusual characteristic of this congregation is the number of men, many of them very capable inleadership. The Church now also has land to build on, which wasgiven them in return for the help Gabriel gave the owner, building hishous

Despite the name calling of many of their friends a greatnumber of children attend the services where they are given specialclasses by Vickie. She has had ample experience with children as shewas a popula r b aby sitter at a very early age and started teachingchildren in Sunday School and VBS when she was a freshman in HighSchool. She is also well liked by the women and they consider her a teacher in many matters of the home.

As a result of his contacts with lawyers , engineers , andgovernment o^icials in IDES program of reconstruction, and morerecently with doctors because of Vickie s bout with hepatitis, Gabrielis widely known and has gained respect and acceptance by all Theywere invited to the home of an engineer in Guatemala City to teach a

The work with the congr^ation in San Raymundo,holding 3 regular services and a home Bible study each week, thecouples Bible study in Guatemala City, and the construction of abadly needed small home for them to live in occupies the most ofGabriel's time now. He is also still helping the poorer people finishconstruction of their homes, by obtaining, through IDES program,building supplies at a much lower cost. Those of you who knowLatin America know this in itself is a time consuming, waiting in lineprocess, going from one office to another.

Wouldn't you like to be a part of this Guatemalan spiritualreconstruction? How can you do this if you can't go? First of alland most important, you can pray for the Seguras daily. Secondly,you can send financial help. They have lived for almost two years on150 200 a month. Prices areabout the same in Guatemala as theyare here, some are higher. For an example, one of their big expensesis transportation; gasoline is 1.00a gallon. They can use any helpyou can give them.
