USES OF PLANTS
TULSI:
Tulsi plant, also known as holy basil, is an ancient Indian herb often referred to as "The
queen of herbs." Like most basil plants it grows in sunny areas and is revered in India for
its many therapeutic and culinary properties.
Tulsi is the Sanskrit name for an herb closely related to the common culinary herb basil. It's also called luole in Chinese and holy basil in English. People have used this herb all over the world for many centuries, in cooking and for medicinal purposes. It's easy to grow on a windowsill, so it can be used fresh or it can be bought dried in capsules or as tea. The leaves are the useful portion of the plant.
GINGER
Ginger is well-known as an aid in relieving nausea, such as the effects of morning sickness and motion
sickness. Ginger tea, for example, can be made by steeping the root in boiling water. Ginger ale is another
popular beverage that relieves nausea symptoms. According to the University of Maryland Medical
Center, ginger is also effective in preventing inflammation; it is often used to reduce inflammation in
patients who suffer from arthritis and ulcerative colitis.
