A CHALLENGE GOES OUT FOR 2014-15
We want to be passionate
ABOUT GOD
ABOUT PEOPLE
The message we want to share is
WE ARE PEOPLE WHO:
Know what we have done ”all have sinned” (Romans 3:23)
Know what God has done: “while we were still sinner, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)
Know what God expects: “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9)
Bro. Tony has already give us Biblical facts about having “passion 4 the Father” and the sermons in
October will be “passion 4 the Son”. He also began a study of
Revelation, a study of prophecy and the end times, on Sunday
mornings @9:45am. You can start at any time. 10 for 10 book
challenge has also been given. These books are available at the
church. Pick one up read it and bring it back for others to read.
Don’t miss out on what God has in store for you and Southside
for 2014-15. Come to Bible study, worship, and know all the
opportunities available for you to serve with passion a holy,
passionate, loving all knowing God who calls us by name.
What are you passionate about?

Uncovering the True Meaning
of Christmas.
Come and be a part!
I wanted to take this time to introduce myself and introduce our new student ministry.
Well, my name is Kyle Mobley and I am from Archer City, Texas (God’s country) and I am 25 years old. I am currently en-gaged to my amazing pre-wife Kristna Young and we are getting married No-vember 1st! I’m really excited for us to start a life together and pursue Christ to-gether. Kristna and I met when I was serving on staff at Victory Fellowship Church in Brazoria, Texas and as they say, “the rest is history!” Kristna and I love to read, spend time outside, listen to mu-sic and go to concerts. I really enjoy build-ing things with my hands, whether it is a woodworking project or a leather project I love it! We also love student ministry, we love to serve the students in any way pos-sible. So we are both excited to be able to help equip our students here at Southside Baptist Church. Now about the Student ministry! Here at Southside Student Ministry we are focused on three main goals: 1.To see students give their lives to Christ. 2.To disciple students and teach them to graduate and continue their relationship
with Christ through college and into adulthood. This is what Christ calls us to do, “Go therefore and make disciples” Matthew 28:19. So this is what we are going to do at Southside Student Ministry. We are going to focus on discipling students and equipping students to disciple others. We try to accomplish this through a number of ways. One of which is our weekly Wednesday Student Worship Service. Each Wednesday we open the doors to the Student Ministry Building at 4:30 and allow the students to come and hangout with their friends and our adult student ministry workers. The students take this time visit with each other, play foosball or video games. Then at 6:15 we have a meal together. In Acts chapter 2 verses 42 and 46 it talks about the group of believers breaking bread to-gether. We feel it’s important for us to eat together and have that time to have conversations over food. Then at 6:45 we have our worship service. This con-sists of spending time in prayer, musi-cal worship and teaching. I feel it is very important that the truth is taught to
to our students, and that is what we do we teach biblical truth! Right now we are seeing some awesome things in our first series on Jesus. Explaining to the students that they have to decide for themselves who they believe Jesus is. Our next series we will be going through the book of Colossians, which I am stoked about! We are striving to create an environment that is loving and welcoming to the students we are reaching. I also feel its important that students be around adults during this time. They need to see how Christian adults live their lives, so feel free to join us on Wednesdays! If you have any questions about what we are doing at Southside Student Ministry please contact me or come see me! I am locat-ed in the office of the Student Ministry Building and am here Monday–Thursday 9am-3pm. Also you can email me at [email protected].
In Christ,
