Yesterday – Grouper continued

• Due to limitations of IEEE Online Community site Mick Maytum converted Grouper to an static resource site that was open.

• More recently Grouper made to redirect to the pes-spdc.org site

• Online Community is an IEEE Facility• Tom Field was the evangelist of the IEEE

Power & Energy Society Forum • Requires IEEE Web Account to access

Cannot be accessed by search engines• Individuals can upload and download files• Content Public & Private areas for Files,

Discussions, Media, etc.

Yesterday – IEEE OC continued

• Tom had to take a sabbatical and Mick Maytum ran it for a while

• SPDC content became 70 % of the PES OC content

• On Tom’s return, SPDC content spun off into SPD Forum OC site

• Always fighting for extra server memory• Major hiccup when IEEE went to cheaper

software
