Recognizing Excellence Awards Gala

The successes of our Catholic schools and their students would not be possible without the selfless support of our committed educators, administrators, clergy, and lay partners in the community. This year, we are holding our first annual Recognizing Excellence Awards Gala at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord on June 22, 2017. We hope you will consider joining us at this exciting event when we will officially honor our School Leader of the Year, Clergy Member of the Year, Community Partner of the Year and most especially our Teacher of the Year. Please read the award descriptions and use the links below to nominate someone you think deserves to receive this special recognition. The deadline to submit your nomination is March 17, 2017.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Catholic Schools Office at (603) 663-0140.

3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time "He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him." Peter, Andrew, James, and John's lives would never be the same. They were going about their usual business--fishing on the Sea of Galilee--when Jesus approached them and said, "Come after me." And that's just what they did. "At once they left their nets and followed him." Such a quick response to such a radical request!

What compelled these men to leave their livelihood to follow the Lord? His promise to them was that he would make them "fishers of men." Perhaps they thought that promise sounded fabulous. But it seems more likely that it was Christ himself who drew the men. There must have been something utterly attractive about him, and completely trustworthy. Otherwise, it seems unbelievable that these men would have been so quick to respond to his call.

This compelling man is the same Christ who calls us. We hear his voice in a different way, of course, through the Church and through the Bible, through his Spirit in our hearts, but it is nonetheless the same Jesus of Nazareth who asks us to follow him. Have we allowed ourselves to be drawn by his voice? Are we open to a real encounter with the Lord who changes lives?

If our relationship with Jesus does not transform us, if it does not change us into different, better people moment by moment and day by day, then chances are that we are not truly encountering him. He is too powerful to be inconsequential. It might take some courage and commitment to come into authentic contact with the Lord, but when we do, our lives will never be the same.

Adopt a Teen for Steubenville East! Please consider making a donation to the Steubenville East Youth Conference scholarship fund. The conference offers wonderful opportunities for our teens to deepen their faith life together with other Catholic teens from around the Northeast. We have 14 students and chaperones who are attending this year, several of whom are in need of financial assistance. Fund raising events are planned, but further assistance is needed. The cost for one student to attend is $230.00.

If you are able to help, please mail your donations to:

St. Aloysius of Gonzaga Parish

48 W. Hollis St. Nashua, NH 03060

or you can drop it by the Rectory Office.

Thank you for your help!

Welcome Donna! We are excited to welcome Donna Pratt as the new Administrative Assistant at our Saint Louis Cemetery office. Donna is an active parishioner whose years of experience in a corporate setting will be valuable to the parish as we work on improving the efficiency of our cemetery operations. As you know, the cemetery office, operated to support all three cemeteries, is open 16 hours per week and we want to provide quality service and support to all those we serve, whether they be funeral directors, parishioners or the general public. We look forward to working with Donna in the months ahead and helping her as she gets up to speed on all there is to learn about this unique and very important part of who we are and what we do.

Soiree Volunteer Opportunities

If you are looking for a way to share your time and talent to help our parish, consider helping “behind the scenes” of our annual Soiree. As you know, this night features a delicious sit-down meal followed by dessert and dancing. Lots of preparation goes into making this night a special one. If you would like to help us, most work is done the week prior (this year would be January 23rd – January 27th). We clean, organize, set up, organize again, and, of course, offer any assistance in the kitchen! The night of the event we can always use more hands as we prepare, serve and clean. Volunteers would attest: the fun begins in the kitchen! If you would like more information, please call Rolande Suchocki at 882-2139 for more information.

Support for Separated & Divorced Divorce and separation can be painful experiences. Support groups are available to those who are seeking healing, comfort, and empowerment. Soiree 2017
