Saint Anthony of Padua “Christians must lean on the cross of Christ just as travelers lean on a staff when they begin a long journey. They must have the passion of Christ deep-ly imbedded in their minds and hearts, because only from it can they derive peace, grace, and truth.

For Catholics a valid sacramental marriage is before a Priest and two witnesses in what is called the Form of Marriage. If you have been married by a Justice of the Peace or in a Civil Marriage and wish to have your marriage blessed by the Church and be able to return to the sacraments, most especial-ly, the Sacrament of the Eucharist, please call the rectory at 215-884-3252 and ask to speak to Fr. Volunteer Opportunities! For almost ten years, the St. Hilary Conference of the Society of St. Vincent DePaul has been involved at Hope Lodge, a residence for out of town cancer patients receiving treatment at area hospitals. Once a month a group of ladies headed by Marian Stevens, hosts a Tea for these patients and their caregivers. Marian would like to step aside and we need someone (or more) to take her place. Also, our conference is always eager to wel-come new members to help with all of our pro-jects. To find out more, please contact the rectory @ 215 884-3242

DO YOU KNOW YOUR TRIBUNAL?

The Tribunal is available to help people who have experienced divorce and who may wish to remarry in the Catholic Church. When a divorce occurs, the Catholic Church always seeks to balance two reali-ties. On one hand the durable bond of mar-riage. This is God’s law. On the other hand, the Church is concerned about the spiritual welfare of the people involved. Even though

a Catholic wedding was celebrated, perhaps there was some deficiency in the consent of the parties involved regarding intentions, understanding or ability? The an-nulment procedure addresses these circumstances. If you are divorced and want to marry in the Church or remarried outside the Catholic Church, please tele-phone the Tribunal Office at 222 North l7th Street, Phil-adelphia, PA 19103 (215) 587-3750

POOR PERSON’S SUPPER—SATURDAY, APRIL 13th After the 5:00PM Mass

St. Hilary’s Parish Center

It is a simple meal of soup with bread and water. The meal recalls the suf-

fering of the POOR and is eaten in the company of family and friends. The

soup is homemade and is quite delicious as is the Italian Bread that is made

by a local baker. This year we are adding cheese to the menu:

If you wish to make a donation the money will be given to:
