The daily rosary is recited after the 8:00am mass. All are welcome to join. The rosary is the most beautiful and most rich in graces of all prayers, it is the pray-er that touches most the Heart of the Mother of God. If you wish peace to reign in your homes, recite the family rosary.” St Pius X

Pastor’s Corner

“Rejoice with me I have found my lost sheep” Luke:15

Todays gospel Jesus presents two striking parables describing the God He wants us to know and love. Jesus reveals our God who goes to ultimate extremes to save the lost. The shepherd who goes in search of one lost sheep, the women who searches for the one lost coin serve as examples of Gods diligent search for us. There is no greater symbol of Gods of extreme love and behavior than the symbol of the Cross found on the wall of our Church. Jesus came in search for us and that search cost Him His life. With St. Paul we can say, “Christ came into this world to save sinners for this reason I was mercifully tested.” To-day Jesus continues His search at the table of the Eucharist. He comes searching for that one area in our life not in harmony with Him, The one issue where we don’t see eye to eye with Him, He continues to come. We have nothing to fear from Him who has loved us so passionately. Allow Him to fill all areas of our life so that His joy may be yours and your joy may be complete. God bless, Father Murray

Burial & Cremation

Pope Francis, through the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, has issued instructions re-garding the burial of the deceased especially those who choose cremation. This instruction should help to maintain and recognize the hu-man body as a living temple of Gods presence. Proper respect for the deceased and their re-mains must always be upheld. Copies on the guidelines are available at the rec-tory

Attention! St. Hilary’s 2020 Mass Book will open on this Tuesday, September 17th Rectory office hours 9:00am-4:00pm What better way to remember our loved ones than in prayer and the sacrifice of the mass.

The Shepherds of Bethlehem will dis-play their beautiful olive wood carvings after our masses on September 22nd. The money made from the sale of these beautiful items is used to help out our fam-ilies and our school. Since 2000 due to the building of the Wall od separation Bethlehem has been getting worse due to the unstable political situa-tion causing poverty among Christians still living in Bethlehem witch is 1% of the pop-ulations which numbers about 46,000 in the whole Holy Land.

The first meeting of the 55+ Spirit Club will be on Wednes-day September 18 in the Parish Center. Note the NEW TIME. Doors will open after the 8 am Mass and we will start the coffee then. We have the hall space from 9-12 noon. If speaker and/or entertainment scheduled, we will still start them at 10 am. Dues will be $25.00 per year and free for those born 1930 and before! “The 55+ Spirit Club welcomes all members of St Hilary’s Church as well as those outside the Parish who have joyfully reached the age of 55 or more. The Spirit Club meets the third Wednesday of the month September thru June in the Parish Center. Members enjoy speakers, hol-iday celebrations, an occasional bus trip and, most important-ly , great conversations and friendships.” (From Father Mur-ray’s Welcome letter.) The board members met with Father Murray over the sum-mer and are filled with ideas for the coming year—-perhaps even a Communion Breakfast and a Pilgrimage in the Spring. We look forward to seeing our returning and new mem-bers on September 18th. Make new friends and keep the old, One is silver, the other gold! For more information call the Rectory 215-884-3252

DO YOU KNOW YOUR TRIBUNAL?

The Tribunal is available to help people who have experienced divorce and who may wish to remarry in the Catholic Church. When a divorce occurs, the Catholic Church always seeks to balance two reali-ties. On one hand the durable bond of mar-riage. This is God’s law. On the other hand, the Church is concerned about the spiritual welfare of the people involved. Even though a Catholic wedding was celebrated,

perhaps there was some deficiency in the consent of the parties involved regarding intentions, understanding or ability? The annulment procedure addresses these cir-cumstances. If you are divorced and want to marry in the Church or remarried outside the Catholic Church, please tele-phone the Tribunal Office at 222 North l7th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 (215) 587-3750

ST. HILARY OF POITIERS PARISH—INTRODUCES A NEW WAY TO COMMUNICATE Flocknote is an engaging communication service, created BY Catholics FOR Catholic parish-es. Flocknote helps to reach people where they are already at – in their email inboxes. There’s nothing for people to download, or pick up after church. Flocknote serves the unique purpose of assisting parishioners in their quest to stay up-to-date with their parish’s news and information. For those who have signed up for our flocknote communication hopefully you have enjoyed the infor-mation that we have shared with you over the past weeks. In additional to our spiritual segment we are able to keep you informed as to any parish based information you should be aware of. Please encourage others to join.

(detach below, and return it in the Sunday collection basket or to Rectory – thanks!)
