By now, many of you have received letters regarding the Catholic Sharing Appeal. St. Leo’s goal for this year is $25,670.00. The first 50% of our goal will go towards projects and ministries on the Diocesan level. After that, all funds raised come back to St. Leo.

We have already raised $18,935.00 which is 74% of our goal. Thank you to all who have donated! Fr. Alfred is looking for volunteers to form a committee to welcome back parishioners to St. Leo. The focus will be on a celebration in the fall and remembering those we have lost during the pandemic. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please email Fr. The Knights of Columbus is pleased to announce the return of a very popular raffle - WVU Season Tickets. Ticket sales will begin this weekend June 05, 2021, after each Mass. The cost of each ticket is $5.00 and the winner will receive a season ticket pass to this year's home games played in Morgantown, WV. A total of 2 passes will be awarded. If you are not yet attending Masses in person, you can contact me at dustyboy1025@gmail.com or at 304.274.9890 to arrange for alternative options to participate.

The St. Leo Knights of Columbus is in search of men to join our Council. If you find yourself searching for a mechanism to give back to our Parish, our community and those most in need, let the Knights of Columbus be it. Please don't allow a thought of not having "enough" time impede your progress. There are no set time demands on any member and as you become involved - the desire to become more involved happens naturally.

June is the month we all celebrate our fathers. I encourage everyone to consider, on this Father's Day, giving the gift of membership to either yourself or to the father, brother, uncle or son in your life before this month ends. There are only 2 requirements to joining our Order:

1. Be a practicing Catholic.

2. Have reached the minimum age of 17 1/2.

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. Dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass

The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass is still in effect for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. Due to the conditions of the current pandemic, this dispensation applies to those that are 65 and older, those with underly-ing health conditions that may be exacerbated by COVID-19, and those who have difficulty wearing a mask, which is required to attend Mass here at St. Leo. For those unable to attend, Mass is live streamed via our website, www.stleo.com, and our Facebook page.

MARY’S CORNER

June 8 is the feast of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This devotion focuses on Mary’s pure love of God and her total surrender to His will to become the mother of Our Savior. The aim of this devotion is to unite us to God through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Mary acts as our intermediary, helping us to surrender ourselves to God as she did.

“Immaculate Heart of Mary, full of love for God and mankind, and of compassion for sinners, I consecrate myself to you. I entrust to you the salvation of my soul.

May my heart be ever united with yours, so that I may hate sin, love God and my neighbor, and reach eternal life with those whom I love.

May I experience the kindness of your motherly heart and the power of your intercession with Jesus during my life and at the hour of my death. Amen.”
