Parish Centre Work Last week the screens and new sound systems were
installed in the Bulson Hall and Lowry Room; these
are great additions to the Centre’s facilities.
The work on the bar has been delayed by a week,
so starts this coming Monday, 20th January, and will
probably still last 3 weeks. Please remember that
during this time, the Parish Centre foyer will mostly
be closed during the day, so please be ready to be
directed into either of the two halls a different way.
The Centre foyer will be available in the evenings and at weekends, but
inevitably, there is bound to be some disruption so please bear with us if
something has to be altered at the last minute.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
service - TODAY AT 5.00PM This evening Lee Community Church, Lee
Methodist Church and St Faith’s are joining to-
gether for a joint evening service for Christian
Unity at 5.00pm at St Faith’s.
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is an
annual initiative whereby Christian communities
throughout the world are invited to pray for one another and for greater Christian Unity.
The theme for 2020 is "They showed an unusual kindness", which finds its
origins in Acts 27:18 - 28:10, and the material for this year have been pre-
pared by Churches Together in Malta. Do join us this evening.
Reading at the Parish Eucharist and at Evening Prayer The new rotas from 2nd February to the 26th April are now at the back of the
church. Please sign up if you would like to read at either of these two
services. For further information please speak to Andrew Munro in the
Church Office.
Offertory Procession There are still two dates to be filled. If you are able to help, please sign the
list at the back of the church. Thank you.

Is this a case for Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple?
The late Jean Hedley gave money for two new
vases to go either side of the High Altar but
unfortunately one has been broken. However,
that’s not the problem because the vase was
going to be repaired. The main problem is that
the broken pieces, which were hidden behind
the altar for safety, have disappeared. If you know where the
shards might have gone, or if you inadvertently threw them away thinking
they were rubbish, please could you contact Margaret Hunt on 012329 662
125. If necessary, anonymity will be assured!
Volunteers needed to help tell Bible stories
in Lee Infant & Lee Junior School Our Open the Book (Lee Infants) and The Word (Lee Juniors) teams go
into the schools fortnightly to lead assemblies in which we tell Bible stories
in creative ways. Open the Book is 2-3pm on Thursdays, The Word is 9.30
-10.30am on Wednesdays.
We are looking for new people to join these teams. If
you’re enthusiastic about helping a new generation hear
about Jesus, we’d love you to join us. You will need to be
able to come to assemblies at the relevant times, and to
come to planning meetings.
For more information, or to volunteer, speak to Bridget Dean, Becca
Chamberlain, or Paul Chamberlain (call Paul or Becca on 023 9200 6184).
People & Planet Group The state of the environment,
and caring for it, is one of the
most pressing issues in our
world today. Our People and
Planet group looks at this issue
and will seek to advise the
church on what we can do to
respond.
Anyone with an interest in this topic is welcome to come to the People
and Planet Group, whose next meeting will be at 7.30pm on Tuesday 4th
February in the Lowry Room. Do join us!

you lead the peoples to their true goal. However long it may take, we thank
you for allowing us to be part of this witness. We thank you that so much
love and goodness still shines into our time as a light to the nations. Watch
over us. May your Spirit grow stronger and stronger within us. Bring the
redemption proclaimed by your servants, and let your light dawn over all
lands to the honour of your name. Amen.
Thank you to the Cleaners and Gardeners
Last Monday there was activity inside the church,
with a band of volunteers giving the church an extra clean, and outside there was a hardy bunch
of volunteers doing some gardening.
Thank you to both groups for their work! It was
all very much appreciated.
