In 2005, Dr Maurizio Damiani was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and is also a member of the AOA, the Canadian Orthopaedic Association and the AAOS. Dr Damiani has completed 2 post-graduate fellowships. The first, with the Canberra Orthopaedic Group, involved specialist training of upper limb and of sports injuries, and the second an international fellowship in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgery at the Hand and Upper Limb Centre of the University Of Western Ontario, Canada. He is currently a consultant surgeon at The Canberra Hospital and Calvary John James Hospital. He is also the Director of Training in Canberra for the AOA, and is a Clinical Lecturer at the ANU Medical School Foundation of Internal Medicine and Surgery.

Dr Kelly MacGroarty is based at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and serves as VMO at The Prince Charles Hospital. After completing post-graduate fellowship training in knee and shoulder surgery in both the United Kingdom and Canada, Dr MacGroarty’s main focus has been the management of complex knee and shoulder injuries in both professional and amateur athletes. He is a member of the AOA, AMA, Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia as well as the Australian Knee Society. He is the Secretary / Treasurer of the Queensland Shoulder Society and a member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

Our interstate faculty, QLD orthopaedic surgeon Dr Kelly MacGroarty, will present on his arthroscopic surgical technique and clinical follow - up using the LARSTM ligament for ACJ reconstruction.
Then ACT Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Maurizio Damiani will present on his open ACJ reconstruction surgical technique. Following these presentations, each speaker will be available for an interactive Q&A session to discuss key aspects of ACJ reconstruction surgery.
