Welcome to week 3. NAPLAN begins for year 3 and 5 tomorrow and goes through until Thursday 23 rd May. The majority of the testing is being completed online this year. If your child misses one of the tests we do have a catch up day planned for Friday 24 th May. Our cross country runners competed in very cold conditions last Friday but enjoyed a great day with many personal best times and a large group of our students progressing to the next level- The Western trials. Congratulations to all participants for trying your best and representing our school so well! After attending the P&C meeting last week I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped out and contributed to the fundraising activities throughout term 1. These funds will enable us to continue with our playground improvements such as refurbishing the cricket nets area and adding further handball courts. It is through the continued efforts of our P&C that your children benefit from extra resources and technology in the classrooms and improved playground facilities. Thank you for your support! Enjoy your week! PSSA NETBALL ROUND TWO

On Thursday 9th May 2019 our Year Six girls played Ungarie Central School in the second round of the PSSA netball knockout. The girls played a strong first quarter and took a commanding lead. They showcased their skill throughout the second quarter to increase their lead. In the third quarter the girl’s trialled some new positions and tactics. It was in this quarter that Ungarie managed to close the gap a little and make our girls work for every point. The girls played a magnificent fourth quarter to win the game 29 goals to 12.

I would like to make special mention of the young lady who displayed generosity and wonderful team spirit by making and distributing team scrunchies. We all looked fabulous thank you Tayla! I am so proud of this team’s commitment to training, they have willingly given up three hours of their holidays to get together and train as a team. It is fantastic to walk up and down the sideline and listen to the girls encourage each other and display exemplary sportsmanship throughout the game.

We now progress to third round where we will meet Canowindra Public School at West Wyalong on Thursday 13th June.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Sue Giffin and Miss Abby Pettit for giving up their time to umpire the match. We appreciate your time and energy so much.
