Year 3 My Garden
Dear wonderful Year 3s,
I hope you all have had a wonderful week of learning. At the beginning of this term,
the Year 3s start to learn the language of rooms/places in a house. We have learned
the names of rooms/places in the first two sessions. Now this week, we will be
focusing on the language of “What’s in the garden” in Mandarin.
Step 1: Watch Wang Laoshi’s video and answer the question in
Chinese:

Step 2: List at least five things that you find in your garden in Chinese.
Step 3: Create a video to share at least 5 things you find in your garden. Don't

Year 4 School Subjects
Dear beautiful Year 4s
I hope you all have had a fabulous week of learning so far. At the start of this term,
we learned the vocabulary of school subjects in Mandarin and spent time working on
the timetable of the day. This week we are back to this topic and will focus on the
conversation about school subjects in Mandarin.
Step 1: Watch the conversation between Wang Laoshi and
Minnie.
Answer the question:
What are the subjects that Minnie is going to learn today?

Step 2: List the subjects that Minnie mentioned in the video. You may play the video
again to learn the pronunciation.
Step 3:Apply the conversational language as per below and create a video about
school subjects. You could video yourself like how Wang laoshi did, or you may use
some apps like PuppetPal, ScratchJR etc. Be creative!

When you talk about your timetable of the day, you will need to add vocabulary of
date, time, sessions and conjunctive adjectives. For example, 今天是星期三, 九点到

Year 5 Learning topic: Make a phone call
Hello wonderful Year 5s,
I hope everyone is well and stays happy. This week, we will keep learning about our
Term 3 topic: How to make a phone call in Chinese, and recap our everyday
language. Please follow the instructions and complete your learning.
Learning tasks:
Step 1: Preparation
Prepare a notebook or paper to write down some notes. Now it’s time for you to start
to analyse useful/interesting information, create a phone call scenario and plan for
your role play when you go through your learning journey this week.
Step 2: review everyday language
Watch Guo laoshi’s video and practice everyday language with your confident voice.

plan your role play with that scenario. You will be asked to take a video of your role
play at the end of the term.
