Farm Shows

The 2016 Topeka Farm Show will celebrate its 27th anniversary January 5th, 6th & 7th. The 1989 first year show has grown to the use of six build-ings, over 300 exhibiting companies, 550 booths and added attractions that include Daily Horsemanship Clinics. Free parking, free admission, free health care programs and events for the entire family make this show one of a kind attracting over 30,000 attendees each year. A primary focus of the Topeka Farm Show has been to bring attendees that have a full-time stake in agriculture to meet and visit with exhibiting compa-nies. This has been accomplished in a high degree as each year booth space is sold out with numerous companies on the waiting list. Exhibiting companies that would like to be in-volved in promoting their products through the sponsorship of the attendee grand prize drawing should make contact early to meet the advertising deadlines. A variety of advertising tools are used in the show promotion, among them: Live daily broad-casting from the show by farm radio and ag net-works, supplements and tabloids in farm & ranch publications and area newsprint. A long-term partnership with the High Plains Journal to publish the official show guide, and a di-rect mail campaign to their 45,000-plus readership, has led to the Topeka Farm Show being the lead-ing show in the Midwest. 580 AM WIBW Radio and Farm Director Kelly Lenz are long-ime sponsors

and supporters of the Topeka Farm Show and are “live” each day at the show. Attendees can get the latest information daily on the show by dialing to AM 580 on their radios. The Topeka Farm Show continues each year to recognize the needs of the exhibitors and attendees, and expands its format to include those needs. The 2016 Topeka Farm Show, along with future shows, will continue to offer the “appeal” that only farm shows can give. Save the dates for the next year’s show, January 10, 11 & 12, 2017.

Approximately 250 companies from around the United States will be ex-hibiting their products at Salina’s Bicentennial Center and Saline County Live-stock & Expo Center, March 29-31 at the Mid America Farm Expo. Approxi-mately 350 exhibits will be on display showing the latest in farm technology, machinery, equipment and supplies. The Expo began 51 years ago as a project of the Agriculture committee of the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce. It was named the Salina Materials Handling Show, and had 44 exhibits on display on the Saline County fair-grounds, now called the Saline County Livestock and Expo Center. With the construction of the Bicentennial Center directly across from the Expo Center, the Farm Expo expanded and is now one of the largest spring farm shows in the Midwest. It attracts approximately 10,000 persons over the three days. The Expo is headquartered in the Bicentennial Center, with additional dis-plays in Agricultural Hall, and Exhibition Barn at the Saline County Livestock & Expo Center. In addition, outside exhibits are located in front of Ag Hall and

on the Bicentennial Center west parking lot. Special features of the Expo, in addi-tion to the variety of farm equipment displays, will in-clude seminars on Cover Crops, Cattle Handling, and Live-

There will also be an opportunity for indi-viduals to have their well water tested for nitrate and chloride, and free health screenings all three days during the expo. “This show has grown over the years to become one of the premiere early spring farm shows in the Midwest,” stated Carl Garten, chairman of the Cham-ber’s Ag Division.“ This is going to be one of the largest shows we have had in several years. Companies from across the United States come to exhibit their farm machinery, equipment and supplies. Millions of dollars of equipment are on display. In addition to the displays, I think we have one of the best line-up of programs we have had for many years.”. There’s no charge for admission or parking. The 2016 Great Bend Farm & Ranch Expo marks the 5th year anniversary. Dates are scheduled for Wednesday through Friday, April 6, 7 & 8, 2016 in Great Bend, KS. The show is located at the Expo Complex west of town. The show hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 6th, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. on the 7th and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 8th with extended hours on Thursday. There will be over 700 booths filled with exhibitors from 27 States, Canada and Australia. The Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo spans over 80 acres. This is one of the largest farm shows in the United States. We have many exciting exhibits & activities planned for this year. KSN will be broadcasting Live all three days. Scott Daily Horse Training Demonstration will be held all three days. Daily has been around horses most of his life. His love for horses and desire to train them began in 4-H while he was growing up in Inola, Oklahoma. Scott started training horses about 20 years ago. After many years of working with challenging colts and horses, Scott has devel-oped and perfected his own techniques. He believes in building trust between horse and rider, and will be featured in Expo 3. Live stock dog demonstrations will be held all three days of the expo. Stock dogs have the ability to be trained to act on the sound of a whistle or word of command, and renowned throughout the world. Come check out these hard- work-ing dogs and see how maybe one could be put to use at your farm and ranch.   Ebert Ranch will demonstrate chute-side service at the Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo. Chute-side service is a convenient and cost-effective tool for large operations to improve their genetics and profitability through artificial in-semination (A.I.). Chute-side service includes synchronization and technician insemination, providing ranchers with access to the industry’s most sought-after genetics. Come out on to view the demonstration where heifers will be A.I. bred; see firsthand how A.I. could be utilized in your operation. Expo 3 will host a variety of activities including live KSN broadcasts, seminars, market analysis and demonstra-tions. “The show staff is excited about the new and exciting activities, seminars and demonstrations that are coming to the 2016 Great Bend Farm & Ranch Expo. It will be the premiere livestock and outdoor farm equipment show in the High Plains. There is something for everyone, come check it out for yourself” says Darren Dale, show owner. Admis-sion and parking are free to the public. The Great Bend Farm & Ranch Expo is a proud member of the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce. The Expo is brought to you by these corporate sponsors: Great Bend Co-op, KSN, and the American Hat Company. Farmers and ranchers will explore more than 25 acres of agricultural tech-nology and equipment at the 2016 Four State Farm Show near Pittsburg, KS.Set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 22, 23 and 24, the Four State Farm Show has a 41-year legacy of providing the agricultural community with a hands-on look at the finest in goods and services. “We pride ourselves on delivering the kind of experience that benefits both farmers and agribusinesses,” said Ted Gum, Four State Farm Show coordina-tor and Farm Talk Newspaper publisher. “This is the place to learn more about what’s available to raise the efficiency bar in your operation.” But the Four State Farm Show is much more than just product displays. Extensive hay equipment demonstrations put a wide variety of implements to work under field conditions each day. Additionally, a lawn mower test-driving range will give qualified visitors the opportunity to operate the models of their choice.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to win the Four State Farm Show Shopping Spree and shop the great deals at exhibitor booths. “We’ll give away $1,000 a day at the Farm Talk booth and $500 each day at the hay demonstrations,” Gum explained. Farm Show Dollars must be used for purchases with Four State Farm Show exhibitors. In its rich history, the Four State Farm Show has become a “Mall of Agriculture,” growing to nearly 700 booths covering over 25 acres. As always, parking and admission are free. Show hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. The Four State Farm Show grounds are located south of Pittsburg, to the junction of Highways 400, 69 and K-171, then one-half mile east. The Four State Farm Show is sponsored by Farm Talk Newspaper. A North American Agri-Business tradition, the 3i Show is a salute to Industry, Implements and Ir-rigation. Organized and managed by Western Kansas Manufacturers Association, the show provides an opportunity for exhibitors from all over the world to showcase their agri-business products and services. From a traveling exhibit in 1950, the Western Kansas Karavan with members loading their prod-ucts on trucks and making one-night stands in various Kansas towns, has come the 3i Show. It is the largest free exposition of its kind in the entire state of Kansas and has attained nationwide recogni-tion. More than 500 exhibitors representing over 1,000 companies participate each year featuring the latest equipment, technology and services. Permanently located in Dodge City, KS, at the Western State Bank Expo since 2012, the show is in the heart of the agricultural region. With over 1 million square feet of outdoor exhibit space on asphalt millings as well as over 172,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space with overhead doors large enough to allow entry of even the largest equipment displays, the facility was designed specifically to accom-modate a show of this magnitude! Exhibits can expect easily accessible outdoor electrical pedestals, indoor and outdoor internet service, and the option to build permanent structures on site. The 3i Show features free admission, free parking, free airport shuttles, ride and drive opportuni-ties, live demonstrations, truck and truck equipment displays, cattle handling equipment displays, crop protection information, educational information, congressional forums, Kansas Lottery promo-tions, High School Ag Career Day, Vintage Saturday, a variety of food booths and much more. The 3i Show is the only show in the state of Kansas recognized by the Farm Show Council as a char-ter member for its excellence and quality. The FSC seal represents excellence and high standards for the benefit of both exhibitors and attendees.

48 T E R R I T O R I A L M AG A Z I N E FEBRUARY, MARCH AND APRIL, 2016 T E R R I T O R I A L M AG A Z I N E PBFEBRUARY, MARCH AND APRIL, 2016

Now in its 22nd year, the 2016 Wichita Farm and Ranch Show with over 282 exhibiting companies and 480 booths will be displaying the newest in farm & ranch equipment plus the finest in technology to local farmers and ranchers! Special features of the 2016 show in-cludes daily cattle squeeze chute demonstrations with fresh cattle daily, livestock handling demos, educational seminars sponsored by KFRM Radio, daily horsemanship demos and grand prize drawings. Over 18,000 farmers, ranchers and agribusiness managers visit, compare and purchase agricultural equipment and services at the show. The Wichita Farm and Ranch Show has become the show to attend to compare livestock equipment. Our exhibitors not only display the latest agricultural technology and equip-ment in the industry, but also feature Kansas’ only indoors squeeze chutes equipment demonstrations. Livestock producers are encouraged to attend this show as it places a special emphasis on livestock equipment with live indoor squeeze chute demonstrations daily. These demos have become very popular with both our exhibitors and attendees alike. The show offers the true squeeze chutes comparisons as fresh cattle are used in each demo so actual field/cattle yard working conditions are compared. After watching the manufacture represen-tatives work live cattle through their chutes, attendees will have the opportunity to go into the corral to speak with these representatives and work the chutes for themselves. Rounding out the show’s schedule will be educational seminars featuring subjects of timely interest. Combined, all of this creates a professional atmosphere to attract serious farmers and ranchers. This is an excellent farm show site offering easy access from all directions with free admission and room for future growth. Local farmers and ranchers enjoy coming to the Kansas Coliseum grounds where parking is free along with plenty of parking sites. Trade Expos recognizes the vital part that trade shows have in the marketing plans of exhibitors and the buying decisions of farmer and ranchers, so come grow with us and be a part of The 2016 Wichita Farm and Ranch Show, November 8, 9 & 10, 2016.
