28 March 2013 Spring Term: No 11

Thank you for the Music (and the Magic!) Matilda...Billy Elliot...Joseph...Shrek...not the names of children at Tadworth (though two of them are) but

just some of the Musicals covered in last night’s truly amazing Charity Concert which saw children from

Years 4—6 performing to a packed house. The choir performed three numbers from their repertoire with 21

other performances which saw children take to the stage singing, dancing, playing the harp, saxophone,

piano and even some magic!

The standard of performances was fantastic with the children confidently using the microphone with real

professionalism. The audience clearly enjoyed the show readily clapping along to classics including ‘Crazy

Li6le Thing Called Love’ and ‘Don’t Stop me Now!’ and joined in with the Shrek cover (penned by the

amazing Neil Diamond) - ‘I’m a Believer!’

My thanks to all of the children who took to the stage and performed, they had clearly spent a lot of time re-

hearsing their respective pieces and preparing outfits. Thank you too to Mrs Davies and Miss Collins for all

of their hard work with the choir and with pu6ing the concert together.

Our Charity Concert has become an annual tradition, each year raising money for worthwhile causes. This

year we raised £251.39 for ‘Ronald McDonald House Charities’ which provides free ‘home away from home’

accommodation at hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child when they are

admi6ed to hospital. Thank you to all who a6ended for your generosity. JK
