Art of Summer 2015The only prerequisite is the desire to create!

The Art of Summer is The Drawing Studio’s premier studio immersion program for youth (ages 9–12) and teens (ages 13–17). This is an opportunity for young people to explore the visual world and explore the visual world and creative self-expression through art.

In our program, studio practice becomes a daily activity in which students learn new creative skills and accentuate existing ones. Each studio experience helps heighten the students’ mastery and ability to observe. A typical TDS class length ranges from 1 1/2 hours for youth to 3 hours for teens. This provides longer work time and encourages students to relax into the process of creating. TDS’s curriculum and professional Teaching Artists offer students the opportunity to work in a wide variety of media and subject matter. Young artists will learn from eclectic instructors who have pursued art as a professional career and who engage in their own daily art practice.

The Drawing Studio has become the destination for students in search of a studio art program to round out their education, or for the overall enrichment. There is a place for everyone in the Art of Summer.

Please visit our Open House on Sunday May 17th 2–4 pm and see what the Art of Summer is all about. Tour the studio, meet the instructors, register for classes, and submit a scholarship application. If you cannot attend the open house, please feel free to call or e-mail (520-620-0947, [email protected]) to obtain more information about the program and tour the studio.
