Mrs K Haidar - KK Class Teacher
Kindergarten is learning about fairy tales. We have had a lot of fun creating castles and making up stories about the characters that might live in them. We are still enjoying our music lessons with Mrs Howells. We are now starting to learn our songs, for the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony, later in the year. In Mathematics, we have been learning about three-dimensional objects and have had lots of fun making them out of various materials, like play foam.

I think TV is a waste of time (2C)
Firstly, it’s making people lazy. It’s very unhealthy to sit next to the television all day. Children could do homework in this time instead!Secondly, it doesn’t let people use their imagination. You could read chapter books instead and imagine all the pictures. It would be better to do that. It is also fun. Finally, lots of adults find it annoying. Like if you do piano. Children’s parents don’t just pay for the teacher to come for one hour and not want you to practise.I think TV is a really big waste of time.
Weiya
All children must have television.Firstly, it can give children ideas to keep them healthy and eat a lot of healthy foods that TV can give you.Secondly, all children can be entertained by television because it has a lot of entertaining channels, for example, Discovery Kids.Thirdly, many children love TV so you have to give them some time to have fun and do what they want. Let children watch their favourite shows. In conclusion, all kids should have TV.
Chris
I strongly believe TV is a waste of time.Firstly, TV can give you nightmares because if you watch a vampire movie you might get really scared.Secondly, it makes you fat because you eat more because it makes the movie more exciting. Finally, you could be doing something fun because you could be playing with your friends at the park, but instead you’re sitting there brainless watching TVIn conclusion, TV is a waste of time.
Ruby
TV is not a waste of time because it has fun and health shows on it.Firstly, there can be health and exercise show on TV that would get you fit and if you did it for longer, you would get more and more fit.Secondly, you would not like to miss out on watching the sport. Sport is fun to watch. There are many fun shows, including, NRL, rugby, AFL, soccer, basketball and NFL. If you are at the park, you may miss it.Thirdly, if you did boring reading, you would miss shows you like and the shows are fun. Finally, TV is not a waste of time!

Stage 2 News (Years 3 & 4)
This term, the students Year 4 are studying poetry. To start off this unit, all students completed a research task to create an A to Z of poetry. Each letter could be either an example of a type of poem, e.g. A for Acrostic, C for Cinquain, S for Sonnet, etc., or it could stand for the title or subject of a poem. Here are some of the very creative examples from 4R.
O for Ode by Patrick and Ryan
P for Pokemon by Jean

We made it! Year 6 have officially entered their last term of primary school! This term, all the year 6 classes have the opportunity to develop our team work and coding skills through a range of STEM subjects. In small groups, they are assigned an EV3 Mindstorm Robot which they will have to build and program using their iPads. The students will be challenged to make the robot move around a designated course using a range of movements, speeds and noises. The skills that the Year 6 students will gain through this program provides them with the tools and technology understanding to move into our rapidly changing and digital world.cPlus… it’s so much fun!

Can’t play music? Then join our…Parents’ Band
We are a group of 20 parents from Neutral Bay PS, Beauty Point PS and other local schools that have come together to form an adult beginners’ band. Our band still has a few vacancies left. Do you want to join us?
Our so-called ‘Big Band’ aims to give adults a chance to learn to play a musical instrument in a fun, friendly environment, and to enjoy the experience of making music with others. You don’t need any previous musical experience, you just need to be willing to give it a go.
We rehearse together on Thursdays at 7:30-8:30pm at Beauty Point Public School, Mosman. It’s a lot of fun, and we are very forgiving of each other’s mistakes!
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all those who missed the chance to learn to play a musical instrument as a child. Beginner adult bands like this are a rarity.
If you’re interested in joining us, we’d love to hear from you. To find out more, ring Rosie on 0420 507762 or email [email protected]
